Quiet Dinner at Home

Greetings in the Lord!

Today's word comes from Proverbs 17:1~
"Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife."

~Well, I'm not sure who the Lord is talking to today, but it seems that He is reminding us that not every holiday gathering, celebration, or joyous occasion is in our best interest to attend when the possibilities of conflict abound. Also, I discern that this proverb has a spiritual reference as well, as in, having the choice of going to a huge, elaborate prophetic conference for a spiritual "feast," for example, even if it means that you will have to share the company of those who may start trouble; versus, just staying home and being fed a "peaceful meal" of one on one with the Father to avoid conflict. The Lord says it is wise to just stay home...

Open Our Eyes that We Might See

Greetings in the Lord~ Well, President Trump is just about finished with his tour of Asia, and despite what many "news" sources in the US will say, it went very well for the President.  There were many business deals signed to help with the global and regional economies, while issues of security, business ethics, and fair trade were also addressed in a productive and frank manner.  The internet chatter has been overwhelming positive for Trump in the countries where he visited for the most part, and I can confirm the support and respect he has garnered among the Chinese where I am.  Pretty much the verdict is this--he tells it like it is and doesn't back down.  He wins people's respect for his candor and strength.  Such a different report coming from the liberal left in the US!  And I've noticed something else, that the more distant one gets from those fake news sources geographically, the more sad and pathetic they sound.  From the Far...

Babylon Falling!

Greetings in the Lord~ Well, it is now past Easter and true to God's word, we are seeing people creep out--or come running out--of their safe dwellings to join the world in all its splendor again...even if our governors still haven't given the go-ahead yet! ha  Anyway, very soon indeed it will be back to business and hopefully we all will have grown and healed in our spirits from our time with the Lord during the isolation.  And too, may we spend some time celebrating the lives of those we've lost during the viral outbreak and give honor to all those on the front line, in whatever capacity they served their nation.  They made sure that we had the health services and daily food and shelter everyone needed to get through this natural disaster, and for the caring and responsive leadership that helped to guide, inform, and provide for us during this hard time as well.  And most of all, I thank God for His wisdom, grace and mercy and restorative power that will astound ...

Fertile Soil Produces Amazing Harvest

Greetings in the Lord~ Today's word comes from Mark 4, especially verses 21-25: Then Jesus asked them, "Would anyone light a lamp and then put it under a basket or under a bed?  Of course not!  A lamp is placed on a stand, where the light will shine.  For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought into the open, and every secret will be brought to light.  Anyone with ears to hear should listen. Let Those Who Dig a Pit Fall Into It Themselves

Greetings in the Lord~ Well, as usual, there have been many things to go on in our country since I've last posted.  So today, I will comment on one of the things that the Lord has had me involved with that pertain to these recent events.  The first item that the Lord put it on my heart was to go out to DC for the January 6th Trump rally, so I did.     Almost as a last minute purchase, I reserved my hotels and bought a plane ticket to Baltimore and sketched out my itinerary based on the listed events for the day.  The only thing I felt compelled to do was to pray at the rally that day, and specifically, for the Capitol Building.  In fact, that was the only place I had on my mind to go to as I went out there.  However, on the night before, I changed my plans and decided to go the rally at the Ellipse first to hear the President speak, then, I would walk down with everyone else.  At least, that was my plan. Prophets of Peace and the Pandemic

Greetings in the Lord~ Today's word comes from Amos 4 and is quite interesting in light of our recovering pandemic situation.  It is a chapter in which Amos begins by calling the people "fat cows" because they are so pampered and are not reflective about any of the hardships they have been through.  They just call to their spouses to "bring me more" food and drink and whatever else while they lie around and think of resuming business as usual.  They do not realize that their hardships: plagues and sickness, drought and rain-less days on the land, blight and mildew on the crops, war and attacks by enemies---were calls from God to repentance.  They simply wanted to petition God in their usual, superficial religious and self-serving ways and poof! Fill the Censers, Sound the Trumpets

Greetings in the Lord!
