To Russia, With Love
Greetings in Christ!
In the Fall of 2002 I played basketball and lived in Kazan, Russia. While I was there, the Lord gave me many words and revelations about what He was doing in Russia, all of it was based on the premise of Ezekiel 37, the Valley of Dry Bones. The Lord was telling me, "Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life...then you will know that I am the Lord.'" (verses 4-6). The Lord went on to say that He was going to "change their hearts of stone to hearts of flesh," beginning with the leaders of their country. All those who would not surrender their corrupt lifestyles to the Lord would be removed from power and so on. One very special revelation to have come to pass was based on the book of Habakkuk, in which the Lord revealed to me that He was going to bring judgment on those in Russia who eagerly sought lifestyles of crime and aggression.
V. 2:6b-7 "Woe to him who piles up stolen goods and makes himself wealthy by extortion! How long must this go on? Will not your debtors suddenly arise? Will they not wake up and make you tremble? Then you will become their victim." V.12-13 "Woe to him who builds a city with carnage and establishes a town by crime! Has not the Lord Almighty determined that the people's labor is only fuel for the fire, that the nations exhaust themselves for nothing?"
Well, not only is the richest man in Russia sitting behind bars for tax evasion and fraud, but so are countless other members of the mafia and corrupt politicians, even right down to common criminals...and the Lord is touching their hearts now behind prison bars! That's right! Since 2002 Trinity Broadcast Network has installed satellite dishes in all the major prisons of Russia and they are recording numbers of convertions to Christianity in the 70-90% ranges in those prisons! And the changes in behavior and outbreaks of has decreased so much that the Russian government has openly endorsed the TBN Russia channel to all prisoners and opened its doors to Christian evangelists to come in and minister there, even allowing chapels and Bible studies to convene. That's amazing for an atheist country! I remember when I was there that the little Christian congregation I went to was like a covert operation...and they were celebrating the fact that the Russian government was allowing an assembly of religious leaders to gather in Moscow for an open forum of religion---the first in 80+ years! Praise God--He truly is in control of all governments and nations!
