Greetings in the Lord!
Today's word comes from Jeremiah 30:16-19~
"But all who devour you will be devoured; all your enemies will go into exile. Those who plunder you will be plundered; all who make spoil of you I will despoil. But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,' declares the Lord, 'because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.' This is what the Lord says: 'I will restore the fortunes of Jacob's tents and have compassion on his dwellings; the city will be rebuilt on her ruins, and the palace will stand in its proper place. From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sounds of rejoicing. I will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will bring them honor, and they will not be disdained."
~I don't know how many of you are in a situation where you're having to endure disrespectful behaviors and attitudes, subtle insults, outright mockery, or having a person damage your belongings secretly because of their contempt for your faith, but this is, unfortunately, my present situation.....and all by one who won't miss church on Sunday. ;) Actually, these "trials" have been on-going since July with a variety of people the Lord had sent me to minister to, but He did not release me to write directly about it. Anyway, as it goes with people who are arrogant and do not fear or respect the things of God, they act and speak however they see fit. Needless to say, I am growing weary with dealing with such individuals and enduring as they get progressively more bold in their disgusting behaviors and speech. Oh, but we serve a just and merciful God! At last, today's encouraging word from the Lord about being restored, honored, and re-established in our proper places as the head and not the tail; about having our wounds being healed and our fortunes being restored. Amen and amen! I believe the Lord had many of us in a season of testing and trials over the summer to stretch and refine us to become more like Him. The word today is to encourage us to keep moving forward; let the trials and tests of the summer prepare the way for your new positioning in the Fall. Accept the things the Lord has taught you this summer and allow Him to reshape your thinking and behavior.
~Be blessed and be a blessing.
