Spirit Cannot Be Marketed

Greetings in the Lord!

Today's word comes from Nehemiah chapter 6, especially verses 10-14.
"One day I went to the house of Shemaiah son of Delaiah, the son of Mehetabel, who was shut in at his home. He said, "Let us meet in the house of God, inside the temple, and let us close the temple doors, because men are coming to kill you--by night they are coming to kill you." But I said, "Should a man like me run away? Or should one like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go!" I realized that God had not sent him, but that he had prophesied against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him. He had been hired to intimidate me so that I would commit a sin by doing this, and then they would give me a bad name to discredit me."

"Remember Tobiah and Sanballat, O my God, because of what they have done; remember also the prophetess Noadiah and the rest of the prophets who have been trying to intimidate me."

~We are living in days when the presence of the Lord is here--see to it then that you do not miss His voice. Do not be as some of the prophets and prophetesses were with Nehemiah, selling out and pledging allegiance to the enemies of God, Sanballat and Tobiah. I discern that this word is for a specific group of believers that have been trying to control the move of the Spirit in their area and have turned a deaf ear to the ones sent to them to instruct and edify them; instead, they are opting to move as they see fit. The outpouring of the Spirit cannot be marketed to suit our tastes or ambitions. "See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven?" (Heb. 12:25).

The root of the problem is that the people want to pursue their own desires before obeying the words of the Lord. "Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness." (James 3:13-18).
~Be blessed and be a blessing.
