Heavens' Lights Shining Down

Greetings in the Lord!

Today's word comes from Matthew 18:1-9:
"At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the seas. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come! If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell."

~I am being sent to a new place to minister for a season. It is a city in Michigan that has a state university of more than 10,000 students. The school itself is a good institution--it has many high tech and specialty programs that make it both competitive and sought-after by students and employers. However, the school also has a reputation of being a major "party" school; it is not uncommon for students to flunk out from poor attendence or bad grades due to excessive weekend partying...which begins on wednesday! As the Lord was preparing me for my time there I was told that there is a "spirit of wantonness" over that city. Please pray that the Lord will begin to bring me into relationship with key intercessors in that city, and will guide our footsteps and prayers. So far the Holy Spirit has said to "go to the neighborshoods," which He showed me in a vision. In the same vision I also saw the city at night time, with little lights flickering up to the sky. Then, the heavens opened and a bright Light shone down on the city! Begin to praise God for the coming revivial to Big Rapids! I am familiar with that city, it was my hometown growing up. What a delight it is to be sent to minister in familiar territory, and to a young generation of potential God-seekers!
