Battle Plan Revealed

Greetings in the Lord!

Today's word is from Nehemiah chapters 4 and 5, especially verses 4:19-23:
"Then I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!" So we continued the work with half the men holding spears, from the first light of dawn till the stars came out. At that time I also said to the people, "Have every man and his helper stay inside Jerusalem at night, so they can serve us as guards by night and workmen by day." Neither I nor my brothers nor my men nor the guards with me took off our clothes; each had his weapon, even when he went for water."

Fellow saints, this word is more than an encouragement to persevere in the midst of adversity, it is a battle plan! No man removed his (spiritual) clothes or went about without his weapon (the Word and praising God)--instead they were busy day and night, building, protecting, fighting off their enemies, and responding in unison to the trumpet's blasts. Now is a critical time to be on alert and responsive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Do you feel the urge to pray for America, our political leaders, our schools, our judicial system, your neighborhood and city, members of your family? Than do it quickly, as the Spirit leads! And just as Sanballat and Tobiah the Ammonite were not content with ridicule, they moved into attack mode as the building continued....so too does our enemy. It is time saints to ask the Lord to strengthen our hands to do the work and to fight for us! In the next chapter Nehemiah helped the poor, demanded that justice be done amongst the Israelites, and sacrificed his own food and land so that he would help ease the burden of those who had less. These are all powerful spiritual warfare tactics that we should be implementing right now. Meet someone else's need today and learn to live within humble means. Then we too can pray, "Remember me with favor, O my God, for all I have done for these people." (Nehemiah 5:19).
~Be blessed and be a blessing.
