Cyrus Raised to Rebuild Zion

Greetings in the Lord!

Today's word is from Isaiah 44:28 and Daniel 9:25-27:
"...who says of Cyrus, 'He is my shepherd and will accomplish all that I please; he will say of Jerusalem, "Let it be rebuilt," and of the temple, "Let its foundations be laid."' Isaiah 44:28

"Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven 'sevens,' and sixty-two 'sevens.' It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. After the sixty-two 'sevens,' the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him." Daniel 9:25-27.

~Twice the Lord had taken me to the passages in Isaiah 44-45 about Cyrus, and then following with Daniel chapter 9. I began therefore, to pray as Daniel did, praying for what I could understand in my limited knowledge and understanding (likewise Daniel prayed for the situation of the exiled Israelites): I prayed that a "Cyrus" would be raised up to issue a decree of rebuilding in people's lives. However, I discerned that there was another, bigger meaning the Lord was referring to and when I prayed, "Lord, I pray that a Cyrus be raised up to issue a decree of the rebuilding of the city of Jerusalem," my spirit immediately was moved by the Spirit! Yes, the "rebuilding" must occur in Jerusalem; a "covenant" of peace must be made and the rest of Daniel chapter 9 will follow in God's timing. Beloveds, I do not pretend to know how God will accomplish all that He has said He will do, or even to know what exactly He means at times, but nonetheless, we are called to speak and preach according to the Spirit and to serve God wholeheartedly, knowing that we can trust in Him, even in these troubled times. So, let's pray that the Lord raises a Cyrus at this hour to issue a decree that the "exiles" of Israel be returned to rebuild the city of Jerusalem, where the Lord's name is written forever and ever. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen
~Be blessed and be a blessing
