Wars of North and South

Greetings in the Lord!

Today's word comes from two scriptures; Joshua 11 and Isaiah 33. I will share selected verses from both, but both chapters are a good study to better understand the war that is going on now in the Middle East:
Joshua 11:16-20:
"So Joshua took this entire land: the hill country, all the Negev, the whole region of Goshen, the western foothills, the Arabah and the mountains of Israel with their foothills, from Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir, to Baal Gad in the Valley of Lebanon below Mount Hermon. He captured all the kings and struck them down, putting them to death. Joshua waged war against all these kings for a long time. Except for the Hivites living in Gibeon, not one city made a treaty of peace with the Israelites, who took them all in battle. For it was the Lord himself who hardened their hearts to wage war against Israel, so that He might destroy them totally, exterminating them without mercy, as the Lord had commanded Moses."
Isaiah 33:1-3, 6-10:
"Woe to you, O destroyer, you who have not been destroyed! Woe to you, O traitor, you who have not been betrayed! When you stop destroying, you will be destroyed; when you stop betraying, you will be betrayed. O Lord, be gracious to us; we long for You. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress. At the thunder of your voice, the peoples flee; when you rise up, the nations scatter....He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure. Look, their brave men cry aloud in the streets; the envoys of peace weep bitterly. The highways are deserted, no travelers are on the roads. The treaty is broken, its witnesses are despised, no one is respected. The land mourns and wastes away, Lebanon is ashamed and withers; Sharon is like the Arabah, and Bashan and Carmel drop their leaves...."Now I will arise," says the Lord. "Now I will be exalted; now will I be lifted up."

~As the Lord has given word before, He is doing a work in the region--preparing and purifying the hearts of those who love Him; calling to others that want to know Truth--the truth of His Son, Jesus Christ. It is an "unveiling time," so to speak, as the Lord uses every situation for good. It seems it is human nature to draw near to Him in times of distress. Also, the hearts of the enemies of God are being allowed to grow even more hardened and vicious, all for the preparing of God to show His strength and Sovereignty. Today as well the Lord had me study and read the book of Daniel, emphasizing to me the number of times the antichrist is being shown to Daniel through his visions. Chapter 11 talks about the wars between the North and the South; I believe we are and will continue to see these progress, as it is through those wars that the antichrist is introduced. "Those who are wise will instruct any, though for a time they will fall by the sword or be burned or captured or plundered. When they fall, they will receive a little help, and many who are not sincere will join them. Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time." (Daniel 11:33-35). Let the purification process come and make us spotless; let us shine like the sons of light that we are, for many will come to us during these times for instruction in truth and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
~Be blessed and be a blessing.
