The Lord Is Our King

Greetings in the Lord!

Today's word comes from 1 Samuel 12:19-25:
"The people all said to Samuel, "Pray to the Lord your God for your servants so that we will not die, for we have added to all our other sins the evil of asking for a king."
"Do not be afraid," Samuel replied. "You have done all this evil; yet do not turn away from the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart. Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless. For the sake of His great name the Lord will not reject his people, because the Lord was pleased to make you His own. As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right. But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things He has done for you. Yet if you persist in doing evil, both you and your king will be swept away."

~The word today is in reference to a couple things. First, in general, I discern that there may be some individuals who have become "distracted" and have begun to put their trust in people or things other than God...the Lord encourages you to return to Him. Secondly, for those areas/cities/churches that had begun to experience the wonderful outpouring of the Spirit, then, decided to return to religious or manmade traditions for the security, organizational ease and predictibility, and modern "wisdom" of doing things, instead of allowing the Spirit to guide them in worship and action----return to the way of the Lord! His ways are above our ways, and His plans are above our plans. Lastly, this passage is in regards to the rape/murder incident that happened in March with a few US soldiers and an Iraqi woman and family. Last night, before I read today's headlines on the above mentioned incident, the Lord showed me in a dream the "incident"--pray that justice be done, and also that our soldiers over there will learn that the Lord is our King! Pray that all our soldiers will come to know the King and serve Him diligently, instead of only imagining that they serve an earthly "king" that has limited knowledge and cannot oversee every move they make while on duty. Pray that the Lord will bring justice to this situation and will rebuild a trust and kindred spirit between the US soldiers and Iraqi people, and that all people everywhere will come to know and serve the true Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.

~Secondly, I wanted to share
