Break of Dawn
Greetings in the Lord!
Today's word is from Isaiah 60:1-3, 5, 10-12, 14~
"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn...Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come....Foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings will serve you. Though in anger I struck you, in favor I will show you compassion. Your gates will always stand open, so that men may bring you the wealth of the nations--their kings led in triumphal procession. For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish; it will be utterly ruined....The sons of your oppressors will come bowing before you; all who despise you will bow down at your feet and will call you the City of the Lord, Zion of the Holy One of Israel."
~The Lord gave me a vision of the blackest pre-dawn; the blackness was so thick it looked like fog. But in the distance a bright light was starting to shine through. It was not a beautiful sun rising, but rather, it was like a light piercing the darkness--like a flashlight beam splitting the dust and darkness of an old attic.
I discern that the Lord is telling us about this coming year; a year of the Light beginning to shine upon His earth and His people, splitting the darkness. The rest of today's passage talks of the wealth of the nations being given to us, the righteous sons and daughters of the Lord. It's a sort of transfer of wealth; "Instead of bronze I will bring you gold, and silver in place of iron." (Verse 17a) A few days ago the Lord gave us a word to pray for our nation's businesses and workforce; "the marketplace", as many now are referring to it. Yes, so it is that the Lord wants His holy ones to oversee the marketplace. Today also I read Daniel chapters 1-2. We should remember that it was after the fall of Jerusalem and their being sent into exile that the stories of Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah took place; their devotion to the Lord and their tests of faith, and finally their promotions---overseers of the lands and people of Babylon. This is the season we are living in now. Many tried to accuse and bring down Daniel and the others, but they couldn't. These faithful servants of God simply remained firm, relying on God for insight, wisdom, protection, and deliverance. They were given discernment, and discernment was the one thing King Nebuchadnezzar did not have--so it is with many today. "Kings" and leaders, struggling to find answers and direction, just like the populace. We have the One who delights to show us the way! "Daniel replied, "No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries" (Dan.2:27-28a). What an awesome and good God we serve. Shine on, light of Christ!
~Be blessed and be a blessing.
