Cry from the North
Greetings in the Lord!
Recently the Lord had me go to Iceland and Germany to prophesy to those countries. Today's word is from Psalm 83 and it speaks of the cry for help that Iceland currently groans from the depths of their souls as she very much is under beseige from the enemy.
"O God, do not keep silent; be not quiet, O God, be not still.
See how your enemies are astir, how your foes rear their heads. With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. 'Come,' they say, 'let us destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more.'...Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon, who perished at Endor and became like refuse on the ground....Make them like tumbleweed, O my God, like chaff before the wind...Cover their faces with shame so that men will seek your name, O Lord. May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace. Let them know that you, whose name is the Lord--that you are the Most High over all the earth."
~The Lord had me tour around the main city of Reykjavik to see and feel the burdens of their people: greedy businessesmen building hotels and huge shopping centers all over town--places that make watching a movie now $20 a ticket and a salad at T.G.I.F. $23! And it isn't just entertainment prices, but then housing prices have gone up, and food prices have gone up. These are a people that are used to and good at persevering, but I could feel the weight of their lives. "Adult" nightclubs and shops, casinos, and rundown houses lined downtown streets. Most of that was not there even just a few short years ago, but it gives a hint to the overall moral decline and success of the enemy in their midst.
My heart was pained by these things and much more (especially concerning the"conpromised" condition of their national church) and I prayed for the 300,000 people of this little island in the north, "Lord, ease their burdens." Believers, as we read this psalm, we are to pray and intercede on their behalves, reminding the Lord that He had already given His word of deliverance back on February 1st: (excerpt) "The Lord comes riding on His white horse to spear the red dragon, setting the captives free! In an instant all is changed! Your hearts will burn for Me!" He said. The Lord gave Isaiah 27:1-5 as a promise to Iceland.
While I prayed back in Iceland the Lord said He was going to raise up 'prayer warriors' and 'people that know what it is to seek Me in the inner room.' Fellow believers, pray that the Lord's will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Watch and see how our Glorious Father will intercede on their behalves in Iceland. We are all parts of one body, so we pray in unity for the Lord's saving grace on the Church and for the people of the world.
