The Trial of the People

Greetings in the Lord~

This week the Supreme Court heard the arguments from the lawyers representing the (small group of) Colorado voters that wanted to have Trump removed from the state's ballot in the next election.  While their arguments were much less than convincing, in the bigger picture, the fact that the Supreme Court was even listening to their sophisticated whines has an important spiritual implication, as today's prophetic word comes from Micah 6.  This word has to do with the 'trial of the people,' as they represent just how far down and wide the rebellion against the Lord goes in the U.S. culture.  These folks are on trial with the Lord presiding, and it doesn't go well for them!

First off, it is interesting that this passage begins with the Lord calling to the mountains and hills to hear their complaints: "Stand up and state your case against Me.  Let the mountains and hills be called to witness your complaints.  And now, O mountains, listen to the Lord's complaint!  He has a case against His people." Micah 6:1-2.

The Rocky Mountains have been witness to a lot of corrupt activity taking place in Colorado--from RINO republicans lying to the public about what they really stand for, to biased Dominion election machine technology headquartered in Denver, to falsely accusing Colorado election officials of misdeeds because they would not support election fraud, and so on.  And don't forget, in 2008, at the Democratic Nomination convention in Denver's Invesco Field that Obama gave a speech with the stage set like the Throne of Pergamon, or as the Bible calls it, "the seat of Satan."  Yes, the mountains could definitely be summoned to tell about all the corrupt things they have seen in this state.

Then, chapter 6 goes on to focus more on the rebellious people, with the Lord asking: "O My people, what have I done to you?  What have I done to make you tired of Me?"  The Lord has blessed this country  abundantly and protected us through many conflicts and economic downturns, so why have many people turned their backs on Him?  Because they have not acknowledged God's provision or loving-kindness to them and have taken His blessings for granted--even thinking maybe they have only themselves to thank, that's why!

The chapter continues and gets more pointed, by calling out the misdeeds of the people--the widespread corruption, cheating, and defrauding that is taking place on the land to make people rich.  And all the rampant lying and dishonest business tactics and outright idolatry and paganism that is happening in the high lands.  It is a modern-day 'high place,' as the Bible refers this is kind of activity.

At any rate, by the end of the passage in Micah 6, we read about the prophetic mess the corrupt individuals will bring upon themselves as a result of their rebellion and sophisticated nonsense they bothered the high court with--mostly, economic hardships.

["You will eat but never have enough...And though you try to save your money, it will come to nothing in the end.  You will save a little, but I will give it to those who conquer you.  You will plant crops but not harvest them.  You will press olives but not get enough oil to anoint yourselves.  You will trample the grapes but get no juice to make your wine. You keep only the laws of evil King Omri, you follow only the example of wicked King Ahab!  Therefore, I will make an example of you, bringing you to complete ruin.  You will be treated with contempt, mocked by all who see you."  Micah 6:14-16.]

So, today I pray for those who love the Lord in the land and keep holding onto true justice and to God's word, for He tells us in Micah 6:8 how we should be living and what He requires of us: "to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."  Stay away from the ways of the rebellious, especially in this season, and cling closely to God, for He is meting out His judgments on the corrupt in the land, from the least to the greatest.  And those who choose to make a formal preceding of their nonsense, who choose to lie and slander and push false narratives to try and sway the public deceitfully, be ready for the strong hand of the Lord.  For He is moving swiftly in our midst these days.

~Be blessed and be a blessing.
