Put 'Belief' Back in the Believers
Greetings in Christ!
Today's word comes from Galatians 3:2-5: "I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard? Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort? Have you suffered so much for nothing--if it really was for nothing? Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard?"
We are entering a very special season of a powerful move of God; many will see things that they've not seen before--all in the name of Jesus Christ! This is bound to make the "religious" folk among us a bit uncomfortable, if not down right alarmed. Imagine going to church and Bible study for years, reading about miraculous healings, glorious visions, and people operating in the gifts of the Spirit, then, watching one day as these wonderful things begin to happen in great number! It's likely to cause a stir, isn't it? But what about when we begin to see great numbers of people coming to know the Lord as a result of "radical" Christians actually carrying out the Great Comission? Then we will begin to understand the big difference between "observing the law" and "walking by faith," as Paul strongly encourages the Galatians to do in today's scripture. The Lord is telling us today to let your faith in the promises of His Word well up in you; expect the unexpected, we serve an awesome God!
