Keep Your Tongue From Evil

Today's verse comes from Psalm 34:11-14.
"Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it."

Greetings in the Lord! About three times in the past week the Lord has given me yet more passages of Scripture talking about the rise of Babylon these days and of them subduing countries. Two such passages were from 2 Chronicles 36 and 2 Kings 24. Both of those accounts tell of Babylon overrunning Judah and of the final days of Judah's kings, the destruction of the temple, and exile to Babylon. Summer Storms Are Brewing

Greetings in the Lord! Is anyone else just sick and tired of hearing and reading all of the contempt, lies and mockery coming from Trump's enemies?  I mean, seriously, how much venom can people have?  But then I am quickly reminded that we war not with flesh and blood, but with powers and rulers of darkness--yet our King reigns far higher, "far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in this present age but in the one to come.  And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the Church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way." Blowing the Horn

Greetings in the Lord! Oh, the prophets of the Old Testament--how they spoke with such fervor and directness the words of the Lord. Not people pleasers , to be sure. Well, today's word is taken from that vein. It comes from Ezekiel 33, where the Lord tells Ezekiel that he has been chosen by God to be a "watchman" for the house of Israel; to speak to them whatever the Lord commands...or Ezekiel will be held accountable for not saying anything when he was commanded to speak. "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from Me. When I say to the wicked, 'O wicked man, you will surely die,' and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood." Today's word comes from Jeremiah 29:24-32; "Tell Shemaiah the Nehelamite, 'This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel says: You sent letters in your own name to all the people in Jerusalem, to Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the other priests. You said to Zephaniah, "The Lord has appointed you priest in place of Jehoiada to be in charge of the house of the Lord; you should put any madman who acts like a prophet into the stocks and neck-irons. So why have you not reprimanded Jeremiah from Anathoth, who poses as a prophet among you? He has sent this message to us in Babylon: It will be a long time. The Deep Waters of Silicon Valley

Greetings in the Lord! Recently, I gave a talk about China's social credit system and its possible significance for us in the West.  There are many reasons for this, but namely, because electronic data, in use with algorithms and artificial intelligence, is the wave of the future.  In fact, high tech elites and academic scholars alike are pushing a sort of new religion from Silicon Valley based on their vision of these things.  Well, while they might be right in that high technology and the internet are rapidly changing our global societies, I am also reminded of two simple proverbs: The words of the mouth are deep waters, but the fountain of wisdom is a rushing stream. Greetings in the Lord~ Today's word comes from Hosea 7 and it discusses more about the corruption with our current presidential administration, but specifically it includes and highlights the evil of those supporting this president and Democrat party these days.  Verses 2-7 are very interesting; first, it specifically points to those who have participated in any evil to put and keep the "king"/Democrats in power: the liars in the mainstream media, Democrat legistators, judges, intelligence community, Hollywood, Silicon Valley, etc.  "Its people don't realize that I am watching them.  Their sinful deeds are all around them, and I see them all.  The people entertain the king with their wickedness, and the princes laugh at their lies.  They are all adulterers, always aflame with lust."  Hosea 7:2-4   Obviously, this passage talks about how deceitful the whole Democrat-supporting community is/has been in their efforts to have them attain power.  And n...

Can't See the Forest Thru All the Trees

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Micah chapters 1-2. Those chapters speak of God's intense disapproval of the prevalent idolatry, corruption, and immorality in Samaria and Jerusalem. While in verses 2:12-13 God promises deliverance for the remnant of faithful believers in those nations, overall the chapters foretell of certain judgment to Israel and Judah for their sinful ways (eathquakes and enemy attacks)...yet, false prophets spoke against the words of Micah. 2:6-7) "Do not prophesy," their prophets say. "Do not prophesy about these things; disgrace will not overtake us." Should it be said, O house of Jacob: "Is the Spirit of the Lord angry? Does he do such things?"
