Keep Your Tongue From Evil

Today's verse comes from Psalm 34:11-14.
"Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it."

Witch of Endor Be Revealed and Rendered Powerless

  Greetings in the Lord~ Well, Trump's in office and the predicted fireworks show has been non-stop. At first, it seemed a bit dramatic, like he was taking on issues that were out in left field and picking unnecessary fights with countries that are not typically in the U.S. news cycle.  It was a little hard to follow his thinking....at first.  But as most things Trump-related, the truth of a matter reveals itself in short time, thus prompting the current adage of: "Trump was right."  But this latest dispute he had with the president of Ukraine seems a bit different to me.   On the surface, it was dealing with a subject that has gotten a lot of press and dollars from the U.S.--the war in the Ukraine.  However, as I watched the early clips of their much publicized spat, I heard in my spirit: "The witch of Endor," over and over.  Hmmm, this is referring to the passage in 1 Samuel 28.  The prophet Samuel has just died and King Saul finds himself ...

Covenant Keeper

Greetings in the Lord! Hosea 6-8 talk more about the prevalent incorrect mindset of Ephraim (those who know God but deny His will and word in their lives and chase after worldly things instead), and cites a few trends we as Christians need to pray specifically about for this country. First, we read in chapter 6 an overall insincere acknowledgement of the reasons why Ephraim is suffering judgment from God--they act like, "God is good; He'll get us out of this mess in no time because we are His children. Surely our hard times will go away because God loves us." But the Lord says, "Your love is like the morning mist, like the early dew that disappears...For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings." Hos.6:4b,6. Strengthen Feeble Arms and Weak Knees

Greetings in the Lord! For the past three weeks I have been fasting a Daniel's fast because the Lord put it on my heart to participate with a ministry that issued the fast for our country. On this, the last day of the fast, the Lord led me to read Isaiah 22. It is a word about some of the major things happening in our country from a political perspective. It also sheds light on the things we as Christians should be doing in our lives to do our part to strengthen this country. Fire on Babylon--Let the Threshing Begin

Greetings in the Lord, This past week the Lord has had me revisit some of the prophetic words He gave back in 2001 thru 2008 for the United States--most of them came from the book of Jeremiah.  They were words about Babylon falling; about the Lord raising up an army of foreigners to take her down and plunder the nation of everything they held dear--all of their worthless idols.  The United States, my friends, is that Babylon. Jesus-Friendly Banking

Greetings in the Lord! Today I will share a common passage that has new, modern-day relevance for us. It is from Mark 10:17-25, the story of the rich, young man. We know the story: a young, wealthy man comes to Jesus and asks, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus responds by telling him no one is good but God alone, or implying, no one can be good of his own efforts; then, he reminds him of the Lord's commandments for us to live by. However, Jesus knows the root of the issue is not about good conduct (works), but rather about what the man truly relies upon in his heart. But Jesus also recognizes the sincere earnestness in the man's question and prepares to lovingly address the man's misguided heart attachments to wealth while inviting him to follow him.
