Assembly at the Gate

Greetings in the Lord! Today's verse comes from Proverbs 24:7: "Wisdom is too high for a fool; in the assembly at the gate he has nothing to say." "The assembly at the gate" is referring to where the Jewish leaders of the city met to hold court. In essence, the proverb is saying that foolish people's opinions and words will be of little value in times when true wisdom is needed to make decisions. Likewise it is inferring that only the presence of wise people will be appreciated (and admitted?) in the "assembly at the gate." Yesterday the Lord gave me a dream, too, that helped to illustrate this point. In the dream a dirty dog was following me home. My house, however, was more like a tree house, and I had to climb a ladder, swing from limb to limb, then jump from a platform to the front doorway. The dog (which was now clean and beautiful) did pretty well jumping from place to place, but in the end could not get into the doorway and fell all the way

Immigration Update

Greetings in the Lord! Just two days after posting the word from the Lord about the US-Mexican Immigration issue, US Immigration officials made over 1,100 arrests at more than 40 sites nationwide at a company called IFCO Systems for immigration charges, and two other companies in several cities pleaded guilty on similar charges. If convicted, fines could run as high as $250,000 per illegal worker at IFCO, with a 10-year prison sentence for the business managers. The US Immigration officials found terrible living conditions for the illegal workers, some living in groups of 10 to 20. Many businesses wer accused of not paying over-time to the illegal employees, who were being set up for deportation. Willing or not, these released "captives" will soon be reunited with their families in Mexico, while US Immigration officials promise to increase their down on US businesses who look to cash in illegally on "cheap labor." It will be interesting now to follow along

I Have Faith

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word is from 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2: "Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith." Have you ever had a conversation with a non-believer and they say, "I have faith, just not in God," or something along those lines. I am surprised at how often I have heard that! Actually, the definition of faith also includes the characteristics of trust and loyalty, so faith is more like a relationship between beings rather than a trust in a belief system, laws of nature, or inanimate objects. So, what they mean to say is that they have put their trust in something or many things other than God. These misplaced trusts are what they rely on instead of the Lord. The Bible refers to those misplaced trusts as "strongholds," similar to fortresses. Now you can see the big difference b

Cry from the North

Greetings in the Lord! Recently the Lord had me go to Iceland and Germany to prophesy to those countries. Today's word is from Psalm 83 and it speaks of the cry for help that Iceland currently groans from the depths of their souls as she very much is under beseige from the enemy. "O God, do not keep silent; be not quiet, O God, be not still. See how your enemies are astir, how your foes rear their heads. With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. 'Come,' they say, 'let us destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more.'...Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon, who perished at Endor and became like refuse on the ground....Make them like tumbleweed, O my God, like chaff before the wind...Cover their faces with shame so that men will seek your name, O Lord. May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace. Let them know that you, whose

Mexican US Immigration Word

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Isaiah 29:8-26 and is a word about the current Mexican-US Immigration struggles. I will take excerpts from the entire scriptural passage the Lord gave since it is so long: V 10-11) "They (Mexican workers/immigrants) will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat upon them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water. I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be raised up. V 13-15) Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones. But Zion said, 'The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.' Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! V 19-21) Though you were ruined and made desolate and your land laid waste, now you will be too small

Be Free in the Risen Lord

Greetings in the Lord! Heading into the Easter holiday weekend the Lord gives us a word today from Matthew 27:57-28:20 (paraphrasing): Even though the body of Jesus is kept guarded by Roman guards at the request of the jealous Jewish leaders (to make sure his body stays in the defiled tomb), He has risen from the grave! The Lord tells us today that the Spirit of Christ in you cannot be chained or held down any longer by the cursed words of others. If anyone has spoken ungodly words over your life---be free in the name of our risen Savior, Jesus Christ! Be blessed this Easter holdiay and be a blessing to others~

River of Life

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word is from my recent trip to Germany--to decree revival! The Lord sent me to the city of Marburg, to two churches--the Elizabeth Church and the Universitatskirchengemeinde. Both are very old, with the Elizabeth church originally being a Catholic Cathedral built in 1282, and later converted to a Luthran church. This decree was written in the books of both churches: "I have been sent here as a prophet of the Lord to decree that the River of Life that flows from the temple of the Lord (Ezekiel 47) flows to this church, this city, this region, and this nation. Blessed be the name of the Lord! Everywhere the River flows it turns the salt water fresh and large numbers of fish and living creatures are nourished from the fresh water. Fruit trees will spring up from both sides of the River bearing fruit once a month always and providing leaves of healing. Blessed be the receiver of this word from the Lord. 03-25-06" Let it be as the Lord ha

Are Your Eyes Good

Greetings in the Lord! After the season in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the Lord gave me another opportunity to learn in-depth about the strongholds of jealousy and envy. In the fall the Lord sent me to play basketball in Syria for 10 months. When I first got there, I walked around town with my teammates and many times male onlookers said something to me in Arabic that sounded like the same phrase over and over. I asked my teammates what the guys were saying and they said, "They are saying, 'Allah protect you from the Eye.' It's what we say here." Over time I came to learn about the ancient Babylonian tradition of 'Evil Eye' and 'Blue Eye,' which is positive. In their culture, jealousy and envy has such a stronghold on people that they actually ask Allah to protect those they discern would be harmed by the "evil eyes" of others. Probably, the male onlookers saw that I was an unsuspecting, attractive and affluent foreign woman and feared for my

Be a Worm for Jesus

Greetings in the Lord! Today I will share with you a word/story from when I played a basketball season in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was so excited to be playing in the US; however, the Lord had also prepared me that the people I was being sent to prophesy to were a very "rebellious and obstinate people." Indeed they were! From the first meeting with my team and coach, it was obvious to me that several of my teammates--and my coach--had been biten by the "green bug" of envy, with a suitcase-full of jealousy to boot, when they talked with me about my overseas experiences. Actually, I could feel the spirits of jealousy and envy in them when they were just looking at me! So, I tried to avoid talking too much about anything and set my mind to come in and work hard each day, just minding my business. But of course, the light of Christ in me must have been very disturbing for them and they wasted no time in trying to make my life miserable. After a month of enduring thi

Prophetic Evangelism

Greetings in the Lord! Today I will share a story about when I was living and playing basketball in Syria. I found it so interesting how the Holy Spirit demonstrated Himself during my conversations with my Syrian teammates and friends by giving words of knowledge and wisdom, even revelations, in an environment that tried hard to stamp out all truth. In essence, the Spirit of Truth was being Himself! Right off the bat the Spirit filled my mouth with words of truth that they were not accustomed to hearing because by telling the truth someone would be exposed or "lose face," and that was not culturally acceptable. Instead, they'd make excuses for someone's poor behavior so that all seemed well and some sort of injustice really didn't appear that unjust. The Lord was having none of that and brought to my heart many scripture references to tell them why the behavior or social practice was sinful in His eyes. Because my answer was based on scripture, they did not know h

Gather Around It's Story Time

Greetings in the Lord! When the Lord led me to today's scripture, I understood it as more of a directive; it is from Matthew 13:34: "Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable." I am discerning that He wants me to share stories of personal experiences with you as He brings to my heart for the daily words, at least for the time being. So, for today I would like to share a story from when I played basketball a season in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was so excited to be playing not only in America, but near my hometown....and also to English-speaking persons whom would more likely be Christian. What a great opportunity to witness to my own nation about the many good things the Lord has done in my life! There was one younger player who especially liked to hear about my overseas basketball stories. I shared with her gladly, even though I discerned that she was eagerly listening because she secretly coveted my exp

Godly Shake Down

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Ezekiel 24:15-27, but I feel led to share it from the Contemporary English Version instead of the usual NIV translation: "The Lord said, 'Ezekiel, son of man, I will suddenly take the life of the person you love most. But I don't want you to complain or cry. Mourn in silence and don't show that you are grieving. Don't remove your turban or take off your sandals; don't cover your face to show your sorrow, or eat the food that mourners eat.'" "That morning, I was talking with the people as usual, and by sunset my wife had passed away. The next day I did what the Lord told me, and when people saw me, they asked, 'Why aren't you mourning for your wife?' I answered: "The Lord God says He is ready to destroy the temple in which you take such pride and which makes you feel so safe. Your children who now live in Jerusalem will be done away with. Then you will do the same things I have don

Come to the Mountain

Greetings in the Lord! God is so fun...today's scripture is from Hebrews 12:14-29 and completely picks up where we left off of from yesterday's scripture in Deuteronomy 5. :) "Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many....You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm; to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them because they could not bear what was commanded...But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous me

Rejoice Over the Repentant

Greetings in the Lord! It is good to be back in the saddle again and I have much to share from my trip to Iceland and Germany. However, having said that, I will write on the things I experienced and learned as the Lord directs for me to share, as any other way would be out of step with the daily words He provides for us to hear. Today's word comes from Deuteronomy 5:4-5: "The Lord spoke to you face to face out of the fire on the mountain. (At that time I stood between the Lord and you to declare to you the word of the Lord, because you were afraid of the fire and did not go up the mountain.)" How many people are afraid to hear from the Lord and draw close because of His "fire"? The Israelites were all too aware of their unworthiness and sin and asked Moses to be a mediator for them, a buffer, so that they stood aloof from the Lord while only Moses drew near. Such is the case with many individuals. They know of the Lord, even have experienced some special con

Praise Report

Hallelujah! At the end of January the Lord gave me a word (which was published on this site, then disappeared with 2 others!?) that He was going to deliver the Christian missionary captives in Iraq. While originally there were 4 captives--one was shot, condolences to the grieving family--the other 3 were rescued today!! Amen and amen!! God is so-o-o good and true to His word. Anyway, just wanted to send this out as I run off to the airport. ~Be blessed and be a blessing.

Weight of Our Words

Greetings in the Lord! Today's scripture is taken from Psalm 62:3-5,7,10-12: "How long will you assault a man? Would all of you throw him down--this leaning wall, this tottering fence? They fully intend to topple him from his lofty place; they take delight in lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse." "My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is a mighty rock, my refuge." "One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: that you, O God, are strong, and that you, O Lord, are loving. Surely you will reward each person according to what he has done." Oh, how superficial and empty some people's words are...but God is not fooled. He examines our hearts and weighs us accurately. Are we found lacking, breathing empty words---giving worthless blessings? Or are our words like that of silver, "purified seven times?" For the righteous, their honor comes from the Lord, as He knows their hearts and has found the

Play It Again God

Greetings in the Lord! Today's scripture is from Ephesians 2:1-10: "As for you, you were lifeless in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath." "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were lifeless in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus." "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselv

Look and See Before It Is Hidden

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Luke 19:41-44: "As he (Jesus) approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, " If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace--but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you ." Today's scripture reminds us not to take for granted the presence of the Lord, for indeed, He is moving mightily among us now. How precious the time was when the Lord preached to the multitudes along the hillsides and villages, healing the masses and having dinner at people's houses....yet they were unaware of and did not fully understand the miracles of those moments. His words, while often mis

Good Fruit From Repentence

Greetings in the Lord! Today's verse comes from Luke 3:7-9: "John (the Baptist) said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, 'You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Produce fruit in keeping with repentence. And do not begin to say to yourselves, "We have Abraham as our father." For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire." Upon hearing this some of the listeners got alarmed and asked what they needed to do. John told them very practical things, like; give to the poor, be honest with people, and don't lie. It seems that many in the crowd thought they were in right standing with God because they were "a child of Abraham"...not so, John tells them. Likewise it is a message for many Christians in the American church today. We cannot take

Rejecting a Prophet Losing a Reward

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Jeremiah 29:24-32; "Tell Shemaiah the Nehelamite, 'This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel says: You sent letters in your own name to all the people in Jerusalem, to Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the other priests. You said to Zephaniah, "The Lord has appointed you priest in place of Jehoiada to be in charge of the house of the Lord; you should put any madman who acts like a prophet into the stocks and neck-irons. So why have you not reprimanded Jeremiah from Anathoth, who poses as a prophet among you? He has sent this message to us in Babylon: It will be a long time. Therefore build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce." "Zephaniah the priest, however, read the letter to Jeremiah the prophet. Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 'Send this message to all the exiles: This is what the Lord says about Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah has p
