The Lion Has Roared
Greetings in the Lord!
Today's word comes from Psalm 83 & Amos 3 and has an accompanying vision for added clarity.
"O God, do not keep silent; be not quiet, O God, be not still.
See how Your enemies are astir, how Your foes rear their heads. With cunning they conspire against Your people; they plot against those You cherish. "Come," they say, "let us destroy them as a nation, that their name be remembered no more."
With one mind they plot together, they form an alliance against You---the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, of Moab and the Hagarites, Gebal, Ammon and Amalek, Philistia, with the people of Tyre. Even Assyria has joined them to lend strength to the descendants of Lot."
"Do to them as You did to Midian, as You did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon, who perished at Endor and became like refuse on the ground. Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, who said, "Let us take possession of the pasture lands of God."
Make them like tumbleweed, O my God, like chaff before the wind. As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze, so pursue them with Your tempest and terrify them with Your storm. Cover their faces with shame so that men will seek Your name, O Lord. May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace. Let them know that You, whose name is the Lord---that You alone are the Most High over all the earth." Amen.
The vision I had was on May 15th, and the day felt very significant, like we were entering a new season; the sunrise on the 16th would look the same, but in the spirit a new agenda was being carried out and would attempt to manifest in the natural--a new initiative was being launched by a wicked confederacy comprised of godless alliances.
In my classroom I had half an hour before my class would begin, and I felt this strange significance come upon me. My attention was drawn to the two maps on the wall---one of the world and one of the United States. From the world map I saw in the spirit realm streaks of fire shooting out from the north and west/central of Africa to the United States, and also from Western Europe, from places like the UK, Holland, France, Germany and Belgium. I recognized those fiery, hate-filled shoots, as I saw those same things coming from the Middle East to Western Europe just before they had trouble with rioting, violent outbursts, and anger in France and Denmark other places over religious conflicts. So I discerned easily that this inflaming hatred, which has its roots in the Middle East, was making its way to the US to cause trouble.
Next, my gaze was shifted to the map of the US, where I saw "pops" of little fires shooting up all along the eastern and western coasts of the US. It wasn't very noticeable at first, just an isolated pop here and a pop there--then silence, which were blended into the regular bits of national news with scant details being released. Then, as popcorn does with more heat and time, the frequency of the pops increases. I discern that though these "pops" of events appear to be unrelated because they included not only local acts of violence, but also Internet/phone scams, thievery, and lawsuits, that the fires fueling these things were indeed related and pushing an agenda, by any means necessary. I watched the US as the pockets of fires spread on the coasts and then jumped to places within the middle of the US.
I discerned also that the responses from Americans differed from region to region; the east coast got up in arms and wanted to "fight fire with fire"--which the Holy Spirit warned is not the way to put out a fire. Hate plus hate equals more hate. The west coast became enamored with the "pops" and some sought to join in or condone the "pops," which was like adding gasoline to a fire. There was a connection of like-heart attitudes---old, embedded hate that recognized the hate---coming from the south which caused conflicts and divided the people there.
The Holy Spirit said that the way to put out the fires was by pouring water on it---His living waters from within us. Walking in love, speaking the truth, being sober-minded and vigilant to report suspicious activities, Internet/phone scams, standing up for justice but starting with integrity within our own lives, was the way to go. Following God's ways are more than a good idea, it is actually spiritual protection for you. We must walk in love, put away anger and strife, and let the light of Jesus Christ shine in all aspects of your life. And know that 'We have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-control', so we can trust in this and not be afraid.
I discern that the time will come for Americans to take this 'love test' of sorts, so practice now. Don't agree to live as 'fire' lives, but be filled with Life-giving water that quenches the thirst, revives the soul, and waters the hard ground so a good harvest can spring forth. We, as Christians, will be known by our love; the God we serve is love. "Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?" This is true both for good and bad alike.
Does a lion roar in the thicket when he has no prey?...
Does a bird fall into a trap on the ground where no snare has been set?...
When a trumpet sounds in a city, do not the people tremble?
When disaster comes to a city, has not the Lord caused it?
Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets.
The lion has roared---who will not fear?
