Like an Olive Tree Flourishing in the House of God

Greetings in the Lord!

Today's word comes from 2 Peter 3, Psalm 53 & Psalm 52.  The main theme from these passages of Scripture is about the foolish and arrogant unbelief of God by the wicked, who, because they don't recognize God's patience with them as His mercy and take advantage of the time to turn away from their evil deeds, they continue on to their own destruction.  Meanwhile, the righteous continue to pursue wholesome thinking, holy living, and reap the blessings of our Lord and Savior who hears and answers their petitions.  Amen

"The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God.'  They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.
God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.  Everyone has turned away, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.
Will the evildoers never learn--those who devour My people as men eat bread and who do not call on God?...God scattered the bones of those who attacked you; You put them to shame, for God despised them." Psalm 53:1-5.

You see, if you don't have a firm belief in God, there will be no way to do what pleases Him as you'll not know what He desires.  To scoff at God is to try and foolishly elevate yourself above Him--it's not possible. And when the godless continue on trying to destroy the righteous, who have done them no harm, it is fruitless; when the needy call out to God for deliverance, He will respond mightily.

"Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin: He will snatch you up and tear you from your tent; He will uproot you from the land of the living.
The righteous will see and fear (for the godless); they will laugh at him, saying, 'Here now is the man who did not make God his stronghold but trusted in his great wealth and grew strong by destroying others!'" Psalm 52:5-7.

In the love of Lord I encourage people to "make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him."  "The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness.  He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:14, 9.  What a truly merciful and loving God we serve!  The blessings of God will come to the truly repentant and those who put their trust in Him always.

"I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever.  I will praise You forever for what You have done; in Your name I will hope, for Your name is good.  I will praise You in the presence of Your saints."  Psalm 52:8-9.

~Be blessed and be a blessing.
