King of the Mountain

Greetings in the Lord!

I don't know about you, but I kind of like it when God gives a dream of significance to ponder and think about for awhile; then, I get to take it before Him for clearer understanding and discernment. I mean, isn't fun to just get a piece of something from God in a dream and chew on it for a while? For me it's like gnawing on a strip of quality beef jerky, the taste is just as salty and spicy the whole time you're eating it--delicious! Well, maybe that's a little hard for you to relate to, but that's what it's like for me.

Anyway, the dream I had this morning had so many meaningful details to think about that when I brought the dream to God in prayer later on, He took me to the small book of Obadiah for understanding--which added to the intrigue of it all! Why the simple and unassuming book of Obadiah? The message in it is so direct: because Edom sat by and watched as Israel was ransacked, then gloated over her misfortune, the Lord determined to throw Edom down from the lofty "heights" in which she prided herself --Edom was smug in its own false security.

"The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks and make your home on the heights, you who say to yourself, 'Who can bring me down to the ground?' Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down," declares the Lord....But how Esau will be ransacked, his hidden treasures pillaged!...your friends will deceive and overpower you; those who eat your bread will set a trap for you, but you will not detect it. "In that day," declares the Lord, "will I not destroy the wise men of Edom, men of understanding in the mountains of Esau?...On the day you stood aloof while strangers carried off his wealth and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were like one of them. You should not look down on your brother in the day of his misfortune, nor rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor boast so much in the day of their trouble....As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head."

"But on Mount Zion will be deliverance; it will be holy, and the house of Jacob will possess its inheritance....Deliverers will go up on Mount Zion to govern the mountains of Esau. And the kingdom will be the Lord's." Obadiah 3-4, 6-8, 11-12, 15, 17, 21

I am convinced that one of the big reasons people act rotten to other people is because they really think they can get away with it. Whether because they think no one saw them, or because they think they are better than their victim and no one will do anything about it--especially God, they just do as they please and/or allow the wrong thing to be done for their own benefit and enjoyment. The bottom line is, there is a general lack of fear of the Lord and arrogance. But there comes a time the Lord repays the wicked--especially those in positions of authority who have abused their position to hurt and oppress the righteous. God delights in justice, to be sure. 2010 will be a year for God to move boldly on the behalf of the righteous. Praise God!

In my dream I was driving up and around a mountain in a snowmobile. The mountain was basically someone's home--the high cleft in which they lived undisturbed. It was cold and snowy and dark, very uninviting, and when I came to the top of the narrow path and could not go higher, I turned the snow mobile around and was amazed at how easily I came down and around the mountain. I had made a clear path up and down the mountain--it was conquered. At the base of the mountain "home" I kicked at a stone curb that was the only thing left preventing people from going up the mountain--now anyone could go up and take over the house!

"Before your pots can feel the heat of the thorns--whether they be green or dry--the wicked will be swept away. The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked. Then men will say, 'Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth.'" Psalms 58:9-11

~Be blessed and be a blessing.
