Word for 2014

Greetings in the Lord!

At the end of the year most prophetic voices pray and ask God for a word about the next year, and then share it with the Church after they receive the word.  I, too, also do that.  Sometimes I've had to wait until the middle of January to receive the word, but this year, I've been receiving the word even before I fully understood and realized it was the word for next year!  And if you've been reading some of my recent publications, you already have an idea of what the next year will be like: giving birth!  Yes, the pain and preparation that we've been going through, the windstorms that have been clearing away all that we have relied on not of God, well, it is time for people to give birth!  Some are pregnant with the beautiful and amazing promises of God and they will sing for joy after the pain of birth has given way to God's little bundle for them!  Others are 'pregnant with evil', as the Scripture says, and they, too, will bring forth what their corrupt hands have sown.

From Isaiah 45-47 we read about God raising up a 'Cyrus' to free His exiled people.  He was being commissioned by God.  Yes, a person who did not know or worship God, was being raised up by God to rebuild His temple and restore His people to the land He gave them.  Likewise, this next year, expect God to raise up a 'Cyrus'--one who does not serve God, but who is in a position to help out the many servants of God who have been in 'exile', so to speak, to return to their promised land, to return to the promised inheritances God has set aside just for them.

"I will raise up Cyrus in My righteousness: I will make all his ways straight.  He will rebuild My city and set My exiles free, but not for a price or reward," says the Lord Almighty.
This is what the Lord says: "The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush, and those tall Sabeans--they will come over to you and will be yours; they will trudge behind you...They will bow down before you and plead with you, saying, 'Surely God is with you, and there is no other; there is no other god."  Isaiah 45:13-14.

I fully expect 2014 to be a blessed and wondrous year for the servants of the Lord.  The remnant has been sifted and crushed, but only with what was needed to bring forth the healthy heads of grain.  The Refiner's fire has purified us and made us ready to walk out His promises with spiritual maturity, compassion; faithfulness towards God, with a deeper love for people.  Oh yes, we still have normal life to contend with, but we are not the same as we lived one, two years ago...when we thought we had it all together!  No, our trials were to bring forth a more faithful us--ready and willing to wear clean clothes of righteousness and put on a clean turban of spiritual authority.

The angel of the Lord gave this charge to Joshua: "This is what the Lord Almighty says: 'If you will walk in My ways and keep My requirements, then you will govern My house and have charge of My courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here."  Zechariah 3:6-7.

In Isaiah 45 as we read about Cyrus freeing the captives and issuing a decree for Jerusalem and the temple to be rebuilt, in Isaiah 46 we read about the fall of Babylon.  Cyrus, a Persian, defeated Babylon!  The kingdom of Babylon was overthrown--the promise of the Lord that Babylon would be torn down came to pass.  The Lord had raised them up that nation to execute His judgments on the nations, even against His own people for their sins, but a day would come for the Babylonians as well.

"You said, 'I will continue forever--the eternal queen!'  But you did not consider these things or reflect on what might happen.  Now then, listen, you wanton creature, lounging in your security and saying to yourself, 'I am, and there is none besides me.  I will never be a widow or suffer the loss of children.'  Both of these will overtake you on a single day: loss of children and widowhood.  They will come upon you in full measure, in spite of your many sorceries and all your potent spells.  You have trusted in your wickedness and have said, 'No one sees me.'  Your wisdom and knowledge mislead you when you say to yourself, 'I am, and there is none besides me.'  Disaster will come upon you, and you will not know how to conjure it away.  A calamity will fall upon you that you cannot ward off with a ransom; a catastrophe you cannot foresee will suddenly come upon you."

"Keep on, then, with your magic spells and with your many sorceries, which you have labored at since childhood.  Perhaps you will succeed, perhaps you will cause terror.  All the counsel you have received has only worn you out!  Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you....Each of them goes on his error; there is not one that can save you."  Isaiah 47:7-15.

I've long written that God refers to secular America--its government and people, as Babylon.  The "remnant" are the people of God, who love and serve Him, who happen to live in 'Babylon'.  There is a distinction, and this next year, as I've already written, that distinction will become more and more-- blessings for the people of God and curses upon those who reject Him and His ways.

Trouble is on the horizon for America and many places around the world.  2014 is the "year of the terrorist".  The Lord has shown me a vision of violent men driving at night in white, unmarked moving trucks out to their wooded communities; these trucks are full of explosives and weapons and ammunition--they are radical Muslims preparing for attacks.

Let us begin to pray now that the Lord will protect His people; that Christian hearts will not grow cold with hate--that we would guard our hearts from every thought of violence and un-forgiveness that would try to besiege us and continue to move forward in love and peace towards all people; that we would stand boldly for our faith on the day of trial and trust our God for deliverance and the eternal salvation that is only made possible through our faith in Jesus Christ.  Blessed be the name of the Lord who protects and comforts us!  He is the lifter of our heads for His glory--Amen and Amen.

~Be blessed and be a blessing.
