Light Shines Brighter in Darkness

Greetings in the Lord!

While the word the other day was so wonderful to share, today's word is a bit more somber. Please remember that those who love the Lord, have the Word and are faithful to His ways, we have the Light to see the way. However, we live in an incredibly idolatrous nation and darkened world, and today's word speaks to that situation. It is taken from Ezekiel 7:10-27, of which I will share selected verses~
"The day is here! It has come! Doom has burst forth, the rod has budded, arrogance has blossomed! Violence has grown into a rod to punish wickedness...Let not the buyer rejoice nor the seller grieve, for wrath is upon the whole crowd...They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be an unclean thing....They will not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs with it, for it has made them stumble into sin. They were proud of their beautiful jewelry and used it to make their detestable idols and vile images. Therefore I will turn these into an unclean thing for them. I will hand it all over as plunder to foreigners and as loot to the wicked of the earth, and they will defile it....I will deal with them according to their conduct, and by their own standards I will judge them. Then they will know that I am the Lord."

~Well, some may be thinking, "How can it be that one day the Lord wants to bless us exceedingly and the next tell us that judgement and disaster is coming?" Such is the condition and season of time we live in. Re-read the book of Acts. Wasn't it during the days of extreme persecution that the early church grew the most? And one minute Paul was healing the sick and moving powerfully in the Spirit and the next being flogged and thrown out of cities? We live in times where God is moving powerfully among us, both in wrath and blessings. Today's word says the "rod" of God's wrath has been brought into existence; it is now a sword may ready in its sheath. Also, today's passage goes back and forth between judgement being declared on Jerusalem and the "Day of the Lord," or end time judgement. I discern that today's word is both as well--a warning of wrath coming to the United States and also an 'end times' prophetic scenario being announced. Yesterday the Lord led me to read Matthew chapter 24, which is the chapter dealing with "signs of the end of the age." Verses 9-11: "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people." The Lord has put on my heart many times to watch for those "prophets" who will come and prophesy only a message of peace and perform signs and wonders---to which they end up captivating the naive and foolish and leading them astray. V. 23-25) "At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect--if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time." Great disasters must come to tear away all the idols and false "security blankets" people have...then, they will be searching for a light to show the way. The faithful have the Light for sure, and many will come to be lead by the Light they carry. ~Be blessed and be a blessing.
