The Year of the Sword of the Lord

Greetings in the Lord!

Well, it is the new year on the Jewish calendar and the word for this year is "The Sword of the Lord," as taken from Jeremiah 25:15-38.

This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, said to me:
"Take from My hand this cup filled with the wine of My wrath and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it.  When they drink it, they will stagger and go mad because of the sword I will send among them."

 So I took the cup from the Lord's hand and made all the nations to whom He sent me drink it: Jerusalem and the towns of Judah, its kings and officials, to make them a ruin and an object of horror and scorn and cursing...; Pharaoh king of Egypt , his attendants, his officials and all his people,...; all the kings of Uz; all the kings of the Philistines (Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and Ashdod); Edom, Moab and Ammon; all the kings of Tyre and Sidon; the kings of the coast lands across the sea; Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who are in distant places; all the kings of Arabia and all the kings of the foreign people who live in the desert; all the kings of Zimri, Elam, and Media; and all the kings of the north, near and far, one after the other--all the kingdoms on the face of the earth.  And after all of them, the king of Sheshach (Babylon) will drink it too.  

 Then tell them, "This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: 'Drink, get drunk and vomit, and fall to rise no more because of the sword I will send among you.'  But if they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink, tell them, 'This is what the Lord Almighty says: You must drink it!  See, I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that bears My Name, and will you indeed go unpunished?  You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword upon all who live on the earth, declares the Lord Almighty.'"

 Well now, that doesn't sound very pleasant or positive, surely God wants good things for His people?  Yes, but this is a time of the strong hand of the Lord.  He will bring judgment this year to wicked nations and their officials, and to those who persist in evil plans against the Lord's purposes and plans.  There are entire nations who eat and drink of hatred for others, seeking glory for themselves on the backs of the poor and needy, power-hungry and corrupt, using deceit and witchcraft to further their demonic agendas unawares.  It will be a tumultuous year, for sure, and it does include the United States (with the mention of Sheshach).  But why does the Lord allow years like this?

Events of sweeping judgment are like a clearing away of thorns and briers.  It's the Lord's way of uprooting and overthrowing to make the soil ready for new, good seed.  In our lifetime we've witnessed many such events--Hurricane Katrina and the Christmas Tsunami; the fall of Wall Street in 2008, even sometimes the death of kings (Kim Jong Il and King Abdullah of KSA)  can signify and usher in great "God" changes.  How does one know what is the hand of God and a simple act of nature?  Prophets of the Lord God Almighty will announce them ahead of time.

The Year of the Sword of the Lord is ultimately necessary for the planting and fruitfulness of God's people.  The wicked have always raged against God to their own demise--it is the "day of disaster" promised in Proverbs to those who stubbornly pursue evil.  They carry on in their vile ways arrogant to the word and sovereignty of the Lord.  The Year of the Sword of the Lord will ultimately usher in a time of freedom and jubilee for the people of God, but as Isaiah tells us, "go inside your rooms for a little while until the disaster has passed by."  He means, the people of God should spend extra time away from those people and things that perpetuate sin contrary to God's word; consecrate yourselves and be separate from the lusts of this world.  It will be a bumpy ride no doubt, but in prayer and consecration one will "rest in the shadow of the Almighty" and "no disaster will come near their tent."  Amen and amen.

I Have Faith

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word is from 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2: "Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith." Have you ever had a conversation with a non-believer and they say, "I have faith, just not in God," or something along those lines. I am surprised at how often I have heard that! Actually, the definition of faith also includes the characteristics of trust and loyalty, so faith is more like a relationship between beings rather than a trust in a belief system, laws of nature, or inanimate objects. So, what they mean to say is that they have put their trust in something or many things other than God. These misplaced trusts are what they rely on instead of the Lord. Today's word comes from Isaiah 41:14-29, of which I will share selected verses: "Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for I Myself will help you," declares the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. Strong Hand of the Lord Moving Now

Greetings in the Lord~ Well, there are certainly a lot of prophetic words being fulfilled right now.  First the more difficult word from February about "natural disasters" and other difficult incidents coming to pass--we've had a month of tornadoes, flooding, avalanches, bomb cyclones, blizzards, major financial drops on global stock markets and 2 incidents of hAte ideology acting out in Amsterdam and New Zealand.  Whew!  As if that isn't enough, if I include other sources where I post prophetic words, there has been a fulfillment of a word from July 2018 about the MeToo Movement hitting the "boy" and "girl" pop band music industry of Asia (Korea-K POP and Japan-J POP) and also a word of victory from Psalm 98:1 in that, there was no collusion found between Russia and President Trump.  Any sane person already knew that, but the liberal media had been lying endlessly about it for two years so we can all celebrate with President Trump that the chara

Beware of Karen and the Nicolaitans

Greetings in the Lord~ Last week the Methodists as a denomination met at their General Conference in Charlotte, NC to discuss and vote on many matters, including the controversial topic of allowing actively practicing homosexual persons to be ordained as pastors.  The vote was pretty overwhelmingly in support of that issue. Not only that, but they decided that gay marriages can be performed by such clergy in Methodist churches that are agreeable to this taking place in their church.   Needless to say, this approval goes far beyond finding common ground and unity within the denomination, as it basically endorses a tenet that is not compatible with Scripture.  But maybe more importantly, it is a beginning of fulfillment of prophetic End Time warnings given all throughout the New Testament.   These warnings can be found most directly in the 2nd chapter of the book of Revelation in reference to the sect of the Nicolaitans.  These Nicolaitan "Christians" taught that it was OK to c
