Revival in Samaria

Greetings in the Lord!

Sorry for the long delay in writing, it's summer travel season, you know. But of course, that doesn't mean God goes on vacation, too! So I'd like to get back to work and share with you a recent vision and Scripture the Lord gave about England and surrounding UK territories.

In the spirit one day I saw the flag of England and a map of the UK and was surprised to see the dots of cities in the south including Wales, and cities along the eastern coast of England shoot up in flames of fire. As I was trying to see what cities exactly were the ones lit up the map faded and a giant lion appeared and roared and roared! The lion of Judah had found its voice and was roaring loudly. It seemed that this was the season for confrontation and the taking back of land in the spirit realm. The spiritual enemy seemed to be witchcraft and sorcery...but also, that "spiritual revival will erupt" in the places where the fires broke out.

The Lord referred me to Acts 8:4-25, where Philip goes to evangelize in Samaria and many people come to accept Christ there because of the conviction of his message and many miracles that took place. In fact, Philip causes quite a ruckus with the healings and even catches the attention of the local sorcerer, Simon. Now Simon was used to impressing the people with his magic and had his own following to entertain, but when he hears Philip's message he, too, decides to become a believer of Jesus Christ.

We could probably debate the sincerity of his "conversion" because when he saw that the baptism of the Holy Spirit was given with the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offers them money so he could have that ability as well.

"Peter answers, "May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God. Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin." Acts 8:20-23.

I discern that in these spiritual revivals of England people will come to Christ to be delivered from witchcraft and sorcery, among other things, and there will be the confrontation with this type of spirit and the issue of sincerity and true heart conversion will surface. Coming to Jesus is not a half-way thing; in fact, there may be more confusion with people trying to live by God's word and the life they should have left behind. That mixture, especially with "bitterness" as Peter calls it, shows that there is a certain amount of "captivity to sin" that still remains in the person's heart. True repentance is the only answer. This requires a person to accept the word of God as in the Bible and live their lives according to it. A knowing and doing it by the power of the Holy Spirit living in us.

"Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desire; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you...Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation--but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. For if you live according to the sinful nature you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." Romans 8:5-8, 12-14.

Lord, we thank and praise You for all that You are doing on the earth and in people's hearts. We ask that the Holy Spirit would cleanse our hearts from duplicity and compromise and deliver us to live holy and pure lives according to the Spirit that lives in us. In Jesus' name we pray~Amen.

~Be blessed and be a blessing.
