They Will Refute Every Tongue

Greetings in the Lord!

"After John's messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: "What did you go out into the desert to see? A reed swayed by the wind? If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces. But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is the one about whom it is written: 'I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.'" Luke 7:24-27.

This word was given in December 2005 to me regarding our modern-day prophets whose entire ministries have been devoted to "preparing the way of the Lord." In particular, the Spirit made mention of Jack Van Impe who has been announcing the nearing days of the "revived Roman Empire," more commonly known as the European Union. At that time in 2005 the Spirit revealed that: "By 2008 the EU will pass their constitution," which will make them an official Union or governing body. And so, in an instant, those prophetic ministries, long mocked and ridiculed, will be proven true.

"....and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me," declares the Lord. Isaiah 54:17b.

"The German EU presidency, assumed Jan. 1 2007, stated that one of its main goals would be the success of the EU constitution. Indeed, many are already saying that the German presidency will largely be judged on the outcome of this issue. Germany, a country strongly in favor of the constitution, may have a hard time selling its viewpoint to less certain, smaller states because it already appears to have settled on a specific path. Angela Merkel and the German presidency is expected to make the EU constitution more appealing to those that have refused it through a combination of strategic removals and amendments." This article bit was taken from an international news source (economist.com) just a few days ago.

In Luke 7:31-32, Jesus went on to talk about the generation of hearers that would ignore the messengers: "To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to each other:
'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not cry.'
"But wisdom is proved right by all her children." Luke 7:35

Let's pray together: Father, give us a sense of urgency and awareness as we go about doing Your business, the business You've called us to do. Fill our hearts with joy and peace as we recognize Your miracle-working power all around us, flowing through us as we step out and speak out in faith. We lift up the name of Jesus, Amen.
