Irresponsible Tyrants, Who Disregard God's Law

Greetings in the Lord~

A few days ago I got the urge to read Psalm 69 and that got my attention.  Psalm 69 is a psalm of a person urgently crying out to God, desperate to get His attention and seeking relief from overwhelming foes and a terribly unjust situation.  As I read it, I discerned it was about what was going on in Canada, and after some research, found out that the leader of the trucker convoy had been arrested the night before.  I prayed that psalm on her behalf, and for anyone else who had been unduly arrested in the fascist crackdown on their freedom and right to protest.  It's sickening and hard to watch, but I also know that by the Lord having me read and pray psalm 69 on their behalves, He means business.  For that psalm petitions the Lord for some serious reprisals to come to the wicked who are unjustly persecuting the righteous.  

The psalmist asks the Lord to bring desolation to their homes, and to make their wealth and luxury become a trap and snare for those wicked foes.  He also asks that they would not be forgiven for their sins, but let their iniquity upon iniquity be piled up so that they would not be included in the righteous and be removed from the Book of Life forever.  I don't know about you, but that psalm makes me nervous, as those are some serious petitions to God.  And in my experience, I've witnessed some of those things coming to pass and it's not pretty.  All of it taken together tells me one thing -- that what is going on in Canada has gotten God's attention big time and He will move in a powerful way to bring justice in His perfect timing according to His perfect will.  I don't foresee a quick ending to things either, as this feels like a start to something really big, a major movement -- both to expose and uproot injustice and corruption, and to plant seeds of spiritual revival and renewal in that country and other places as it spreads globally.  And unlike the manufactured "crisis" and war happening with Russia and the Ukraine that the inept Biden administration is using to try and divert attention from their failures, what is taking place in Canada is a serious issue to watch and take note of.  It will mushroom into some really ugly stuff and force things to a head, politically speaking, well beyond Canada.

It's also interesting to note, that the Lord had me read Psalm 123 from the Amplified version later on that day, also pertaining to the situation in Canada.  In this psalm, the Lord gives His verdict on the behavior of their drama-teacher-turned-dictator: 

"Our life is exceedingly filled with the scorning and scoffing of those who are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud -- irresponsible tyrants, who disregard God's law."  Psalm 123:4

You know, it's pretty bad when the Lord calls you an "irresponsible tyrant."  

So, today we pray with all those in Canada who are lifting up petitions to the Lord for His mercy and justice; Lord, let Your good and perfect will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Bring to us comfort, justice, and joy in Your saving grace, even as we look to You for eternal salvation.  Our hope is in You alone, Mighty God, lifter of our spirits and giver of all things good.  In Jesus' name, amen.

I Have Faith

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word is from 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2: "Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith." Have you ever had a conversation with a non-believer and they say, "I have faith, just not in God," or something along those lines. I am surprised at how often I have heard that! Actually, the definition of faith also includes the characteristics of trust and loyalty, so faith is more like a relationship between beings rather than a trust in a belief system, laws of nature, or inanimate objects. So, what they mean to say is that they have put their trust in something or many things other than God. These misplaced trusts are what they rely on instead of the Lord. Today's word comes from Matthew 22:1-14, of which I will share selected verses: "Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. Strong Hand of the Lord Moving Now

Beware of Karen and the Nicolaitans

Greetings in the Lord~ Last week the Methodists as a denomination met at their General Conference in Charlotte, NC to discuss and vote on many matters, including the controversial topic of allowing actively practicing homosexual persons to be ordained as pastors.  The vote was pretty overwhelmingly in support of that issue. Not only that, but they decided that gay marriages can be performed by such clergy in Methodist churches that are agreeable to this taking place in their church.   Needless to say, this approval goes far beyond finding common ground and unity within the denomination, as it basically endorses a tenet that is not compatible with Scripture.  But maybe more importantly, it is a beginning of fulfillment of prophetic End Time warnings given all throughout the New Testament.   These warnings can be found most directly in the 2nd chapter of the book of Revelation in reference to the sect of the Nicolaitans.  These Nicolaitan "Christians" taught that it was OK to c
