Restful December Notice

Greetings in the Lord!

I just wanted to write and give a warm best wishes to all this holiday season! It has been laid on my heart to take some time off from writing and spend it resting close to the Master for the month. I thank God for each and every one of you and pray that you will enjoy the holiday season and find some together time with Jesus as well. Whether it's Christmas caroling, having friends and loved ones over for fellowship, or reaching out to whoever the Lord puts in your path this season, may the love of Christ be seen on your face and His peace and joy overflowing in your heart.

Keep Digging Wells

Greetings in the Lord! All week the Lord has been giving me scriptures that deal with jealousy and contention within the body of Christ. In Matthew 20:1-16 we read the parable about the landowner who hired workers at different times throughout the day, but at day's end, they all received the same wage--much to the displeasure of the earlier hired workers. "But he answered one of them, 'Friend, I am not being unfair to you. Didn't you agree to work for a denarius? Take your pay and go. I want to give the man who was hired last the same as I gave you. Don't I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?'" Matthew 20:13-15. In the Hebrew translation the word 'envious' literally means, "is your eye evil?" All throughout the Middle East this concept is widely understood: Evil eye is associated with jealousy and envy. Tell it Like It Is, Please

Greetings in the Lord, Friday I had the unfortunate circumstance of being in Munich when the shooting there took place.  Every one all throughout the city was told to get indoors and stay there for at least an hour while the police secured the site (s) as it was said then that there were 3 shooters.  We watched the local news and read updates online while we hunkered down.  We heard one witness at the scene say, "He said, 'Allhu Akbar!' as he shot."  Then we were told his Arabic name and nationality--Iranian/German and his age. Well, by Saturday morning the quote had changed in the newspaper to , "I am German!" as well as his name, now to an English name of David.  The police are quick to report no supposed ties to IS, but incredulously, to the shooting that had happened in Norway.  Their whole story is ludicrous at best.  They really want the world to believe this kid got a gun illegally online, 300 rounds of ammo from Lord knows where, played too...

Chronicling God's Mercy

Greetings in the Lord! Well, this post is to get caught up with the prophetic word regarding events in Syria. As you may recall, I have shared several times about the prophetic word the Holy Spirit gave in 2003-2004 regarding Syria from 2 Chronicles 10.  Basically, it is the story of Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, who took power after Solomon passed away.  He did not have the same wisdom or power or favor that Solomon had, and the people were really tired of being overburdened from the king by that point and asked that he make their loads lighter.  Rehoboam consulted with the elders first, who said to do so would win the hearts of the people, then, he went to his buddies who told him to make it even more difficult for the people to show them how strong he was.  This advice appealed to the insecure and prideful nature of Rehoboam and he opted for this.  However, nearly all of Israel left him after that and only the towns in Judah supported him.  So it is ...

Grace to Overcome

Greetings in the Lord! Today's verse comes from Psalm 124 and actually builds off of the blog from Job, chapter 2. V. 6-8) "Praise be to the Lord, who has not let us be torn by their teeth. We have escaped like a bird out of the fowler's snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." In the previous blog on Job, I commented that "the Lord gives us both good things and gives us bad things." Why did I say it like that? The Lord does not do evil, but He allows it to happen for a designated time to accomplish His purposes. I said it like that to emphasize the completeness of the Lord's Sovereignty over all circumstances, so we can begin to understand the fullness of His grace. Greetings in the Lord! Today's word is from Nehemiah chapters 4 and 5, especially verses 4:19-23: "Then I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!" So we continued the work with half the men holding spears, from the first light of dawn till the stars came out. At that time I also said to the people, "Have every man and his helper stay inside Jerusalem at night, so they can serve us as guards by night and workmen by day." Neither I nor my brothers nor my men nor the guards with me took off our clothes; each had his weapon, even when he went for water." Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Proverbs 12:3, 6 & 17~ "A man cannot be established through wickedness, but the righteous cannot be uprooted." "The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them." "A truthful witness gives honest testimony, but a false witness tells lies." ~I read an article in Time magazine yesterday on the war in Iraq, which I haven't done in a long time. Naturally, the article was full of stories of people lying, stealing, and plotting every sort of wickedness to either take control or advantage of the desperate situation there. We have a tendency to throw our hands up and say nothing good will come of it, but instead, I am encouraging you today to pray that the Lord will raise up a righteous leader within Iraq--one that will not be uprooted because he pursues righteousness and that there will be a hunger and thirst for truth and justice within their judicial system; a ...
