Shade from the Heat

Greetings in the Lord!

I have finally made it to the Philippines..it was a long flight! But all is well and the Lord is present here too, imagine that. :) Today's verse comes from Isaiah 25:1-4a:
"O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago. You have made the city a heap of rubble, the fortified town a ruin, the foreigners' stronghold a city no more; it will never be rebuilt. Therefore strong peoples will honor you; cities of ruthless nations will revere you. You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat."

~Indeed, those verses are the song of the history of the Philippines--overtaken by nations in the past, but the Lord has set them free to be their own nation; while protecting them from storms and heat. In fact, now as I write a typhoon is on the horizon, there was an earthquake the other day, and the heat is well into the 90s with 100 percent humidity...but God is good and all is well.
