Praise Report

Hallelujah!

At the end of January the Lord gave me a word (which was published on this site, then disappeared with 2 others!?) that He was going to deliver the Christian missionary captives in Iraq. While originally there were 4 captives--one was shot, condolences to the grieving family--the other 3 were rescued today!! Amen and amen!! God is so-o-o good and true to His word.

Anyway, just wanted to send this out as I run off to the airport.

Keep Digging Wells

Greetings in the Lord! All week the Lord has been giving me scriptures that deal with jealousy and contention within the body of Christ. In Matthew 20:1-16 we read the parable about the landowner who hired workers at different times throughout the day, but at day's end, they all received the same wage--much to the displeasure of the earlier hired workers. "But he answered one of them, 'Friend, I am not being unfair to you. Didn't you agree to work for a denarius? Take your pay and go. I want to give the man who was hired last the same as I gave you. Don't I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?'" Matthew 20:13-15. In the Hebrew translation the word 'envious' literally means, "is your eye evil?" All throughout the Middle East this concept is widely understood: Evil eye is associated with jealousy and envy. Tell it Like It Is, Please

Greetings in the Lord, Friday I had the unfortunate circumstance of being in Munich when the shooting there took place.  Every one all throughout the city was told to get indoors and stay there for at least an hour while the police secured the site (s) as it was said then that there were 3 shooters.  We watched the local news and read updates online while we hunkered down.  We heard one witness at the scene say, "He said, 'Allhu Akbar!' as he shot."  Then we were told his Arabic name and nationality--Iranian/German and his age. Well, by Saturday morning the quote had changed in the newspaper to , "I am German!" as well as his name, now to an English name of David.  The police are quick to report no supposed ties to IS, but incredulously, to the shooting that had happened in Norway.  Their whole story is ludicrous at best.  They really want the world to believe this kid got a gun illegally online, 300 rounds of ammo from Lord knows where, played too...

Let the Tour of Shame Continue

Greetings in the Lord~ There is a book in the Old Testament called "Nahum."  It is small, only 3 chapters, and it almost never gets used in church readings as it is mainly a decree of the Lord regarding the swift and violent end of Nineveh.  Oh, it expresses encouraging words to those who trust in and love the Lord, but those short refrains can be found in less volatile and dramatic Scriptures almost word for word.  Consequently, this little book gets overlooked...but it is one of my favorites!  You see, before Babylon came on the scene in the ancient world, there was the fierce and formidable Assyrians, with Nineveh as its capital.  This city was built by none other than the Great Hunter himself, Nimrod; the one who was known for his overweening pride, dominance, and contempt for God.  From this corruptible mindset, the city was sown and over the centuries became known for their excessive cruelty, violence, witchcraft and love of riches.  With great o...

Chronicling God's Mercy

Greetings in the Lord! Well, this post is to get caught up with the prophetic word regarding events in Syria. As you may recall, I have shared several times about the prophetic word the Holy Spirit gave in 2003-2004 regarding Syria from 2 Chronicles 10.  Basically, it is the story of Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, who took power after Solomon passed away.  He did not have the same wisdom or power or favor that Solomon had, and the people were really tired of being overburdened from the king by that point and asked that he make their loads lighter.  Rehoboam consulted with the elders first, who said to do so would win the hearts of the people, then, he went to his buddies who told him to make it even more difficult for the people to show them how strong he was.  This advice appealed to the insecure and prideful nature of Rehoboam and he opted for this.  However, nearly all of Israel left him after that and only the towns in Judah supported him.  So it is ...

Grace to Overcome

Greetings in the Lord! Today's verse comes from Psalm 124 and actually builds off of the blog from Job, chapter 2. V. 6-8) "Praise be to the Lord, who has not let us be torn by their teeth. We have escaped like a bird out of the fowler's snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." In the previous blog on Job, I commented that "the Lord gives us both good things and gives us bad things." Why did I say it like that? The Lord does not do evil, but He allows it to happen for a designated time to accomplish His purposes. I said it like that to emphasize the completeness of the Lord's Sovereignty over all circumstances, so we can begin to understand the fullness of His grace. My Intercessor and My Friend

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word is from Job 16:19-21: "Even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high. My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; on behalf of a man he pleads with God as a man pleads for his friend." ~I love those verses so much. How awesome it is that Job, which most scholars agree was the first book of the Bible to be written, told us of such an intimate relationship we could have with Jesus, as "intercessor" and "friend." That even in our darkest moments He is there to comfort and to be our "witness" to God the Father that we are indeed His child, known and loved. The verses tell of no promises that our current circumstances will change; instead, Job is resigned to the fact that he would probably die before he was vindicated in front of his friends who were falsely accusing him of unrighteousness.
