Keep Your Tongue From Evil

Today's verse comes from Psalm 34:11-14.
"Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it."

Greetings in the Lord! Today I had a God dream that took place in a Westernized city, my best guess is a larger town in the UK.  We were running around the mostly minority neighborhood in a frantic, as we heard a certain building was being besieged.  I was not for sure who the attackers were, but the threat seemed to be instigated by radical Islamists.  As a group of us ran to take refuge in an apartment building, men in black military-type clothes were there tearing off the pretty silk hijabs from the group of younger, stylish Pakistani Muslim girls and were yelling at them.  I thought they were doing this because they were Muslim, but when a group of girls came who were fully covered (faces as well), the men let them in without a hassle!  As I assessed the situation, their hatred seemed as much racial as religiously motivated, and I realized that really no one was safe.  I left the building quickly and ra...

Like a Soaring Eagle, a Bird of Prey

Greetings in the Lord! This morning I had a dream where I was being shown all different types of drones--the unmanned flying aircraft popular these days with the Obama administration.  The man showing me these drones pointed out the varied weaponry on each, which included all types of guns and rocket launchers and telescopic lenses with tracking devices, and gave me a short briefing of each one's detailed purpose.  I was amazed that there was such a variety; each for a specific assignment.  Some of the drones had other technology as well, but mostly these were for attack, locating targets, and intercepting communications.  In short, they were very expensive model airplanes used for surveillance and offensive military assignments.  Well, after a vivid dream I usually Google online and see what's happening in the news, as most often it is related.  Sure enough, I came across this article today: http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/drones...

Dried Flowers

Greetings in the Lord! Once upon a time, the kingdom of Assyria would give shivers to all her surrounding neighbors—they were known for their excessive cruelty and harsh domination over their subjects and captives.   But, a day came when they were all as weak as wilting flowers in the sunlight, blown away by the evening breeze and heard from no more.   Such is today’s word; it comes from Nahum 3:13-15, 17-19 and talks about the last days of a terrible regime coming to an end…in Syria. “Look at your troops—they are all women!   The gates of your land are wide open to your enemies; fire has consumed their bars.   Draw water for the siege, strengthen your defenses!   Work the clay, tread the mortar, repair the brickwork!   There the fire will devour you; the sword will cut you down… Your guards are like locusts, your officials like swarms of locusts that settle in the walls on a cold day—but when the sun appears they fly away, and no one knows where. ...

It's Not that Strange, Doctor

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Revelation 9, of which I will share verse 20-21: The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and the idols of gold, silver bronze, stone, and wood--idols that cannot see or hear or walk.  Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts. Man, people can be really stubborn.   Revelation 9 is a chapter that tells of all the destruction and hardship--"plagues"-- to come to the earth as a result of unrepentant sin before the coming of Jesus.  Using colorful and vivid imagery, it paints a picture of how spiritual beings and demons will be released to cause these torments, and yet, people will not give up their magic arts, worship of false gods, or sinful lifestyles.  They just go on obstinately believing in lies and deceptions because they want to, that's the bottom line....

One Person at a Time

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from a small little book in the Old Testament called Habakkuk, chapters1:15-2:20.  The other times I've been lead to read these verses were before the fall of Saddam Hussein and imprisonment of the oil tycoon of Russia, Mikhail Khodrokovsky.  "The wicked foe pulls all of them up with hooks, he catches them in his net, he gathers them up in his dragnet; and so he rejoices and is glad.  Therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to his dragnet, for by his net he lives in luxury and enjoys the choicest food.   Is he to keep on emptying his net, destroying nations without mercy?"  (Hab. 1:15- 17) Well, the Lord answers the prophet by saying: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.  For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false.  Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly co...

Note for Friday Meeting

Greetings in the Lord! Today's blog is from Nehemiah 9, and actually will pertain more to those in my area who will be attending tomorrow's Jubilee service. "On the twenty-fourth day of the same month, the Israelites gathered together, fasting and wearing sackcloth and having dust on their heads. Those of Israelite descent had separated themselves from all foreigners. They stood in their places and confessed their sins and the wickedness of their fathers. They stood where they were and read from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for a quarter of the day, and spent another quarter in confession and in worshiping the Lord their God." Nehemiah 9:1-3. So it should be with us: set some time aside to pray for this meeting! Fast if you feel lead, but certainly find some alone time to confess your sins before the Lord and worship and praise Him for His glorious presence with us tomorrow. With Uplifted Hand He Moves Swiftly

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word is from Isaiah 26:9-11: "My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgements come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness. Though grace is shown to the wicked, they do not learn righteousness; even in a land of uprightness they go on doing evil and regard not the majesty of the Lord. O Lord, your hand and is lifted high, but they do not see it. Let them see your zeal for your people and be put to shame; let the fire reserved for your enemies consume them." The Lord is moving mightily among us, can you feel His Presence? And just as the verses above say, we are seeing the judgements of God being carried out and also His zeal for the saints.
