He Moves In August
Greetings in the Lord!
It has been some time ago that the Lord gave this word from Isaiah chapter 18, but again is putting it on my heart to share:
"Woe to the land of whirring wings along the rivers of Cush, which sends envoys by sea in papyrus boats over the water.
Go, swift messengers, to a people tall and smooth-skinned, to a people feared far and wide, an aggressive nation of strange speech, whose land is divided by rivers.
All you people of the world....when banner is raised on the mountains, you will see it, and when a trumpet sounds, you will hear it. This is what the Lord says to me: 'I will remain quiet and will look on from My dwelling place, like shimmering heat in the sunshine...For, before the harvest, when the blossom is gone and the flower becomes a ripening grape, He will cut off the shoots with pruning knives, and cut down and take away the spreading branches. They will all be left to the mountain birds of prey and to the wild animals; the birds will feed on them all summer, and the wild animals all winter." Isaiah 18:1-6
The passage speaks of a time at the end of the summer, probably August, when we will see the Lord rise up and cut down His enemies, those who currently are moving to take over in a land that is not theirs to have. They move speedily now, full of excitement and anticipation of the "harvest" they think will soon be theirs....think again! In this passage too, we see the Lord referring to these people as Cushites, or the descendants of ancient Nubia or Ethiopia (not to be confused with modern day Ethiopia which is further south), these were traditional enemies of Israel. I discern as with the first time the Lord gave this word that He is referring to those "Cushites" who are moving quickly against our nation, eyeing a prize they cannot have. I pray that the Lord's will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus' name, amen.
