I Sing Under the Shadow of Your Wings

Greetings in the Lord~

Today's word comes from Ecclesiastes 7:1-9.  This book of wisdom in the Bible sometimes is hard to understand, in that, it has verses that seem contrary to conventional wisdom, and even appears to contradict itself from prior verses.  But much can be gleaned, nevertheless.

"A good name is better than fine perfume, and the day of death better than the day of birth.
It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of everyone; the living should take this to heart.

Frustration is better than laughter, because a sad face is food for the heart.
The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, but the heart of fools is in the house of pleasure.

It is better to heed the rebuke of a wise person than to listen to the song of fools.  Like the crackling of thorns under the pot, so is the laughter of fools.  This too is meaningless.

Extortion turns a wise person into a fool, and a bribe corrupts the heart.
The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.
Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools."

Well, there is a lot there but suffice to say that those passages are reminders that trials and disappointments, even anguish and death, can result in developing a certain sober wisdom in survivors by providing an opportunity to re-evaluate the direction of our life, change our ways and confess our sins.  Adversity can teach us to appreciate the small things in our life, in our short life, to be sure, and the grief from death can motivate us to appeal for God's mercy instead of our chasing the notion of justice for wrongs (till we realize that everyone sins and no one is justified).  Yes, the wise author of these passages gives some very good, if unpopular advice.

As I was pondering all of this, the Lord again put some things on my heart regarding the month of December.  In October, the Lord had said that December was a critical month for female celebrities but I did not post about it.  However, again today the Lord has this to say:

"December is a critical time for female celebrities, whether in music or movies as they are looking to 'thin the herd,' so to speak in Hollywood.  There is a real blood thirst growing right now, a thirst to tip the scales and swing the momentum for darkness once again in Hollywood.  Cover Britney Spears, Jennifer Lawrence, Rebel Wilson, Alicia Keys, Kaley Cuoco and others in prayer as this is a special generation--especially vocal, especially caring, and they are being called to lead a charge for love and goodness; a light in a dark place.  Pray for their well-being and strength as some of these will navigate turbulent waters in the days ahead, more than the trials they have already endured.  There is a shaking coming to Hollywood that will cause a tsunami of spiritual revival all across the United States and beyond.  And just like a tsunami pulls the waters back first to expose the hidden sea creatures, so more things will be exposed, then a wall of water will arise to wash and ruin their strongholds away.  The millennial generation is about to be unleashed to do much good."

~Be blessed and be a blessing.
