Mr. "Haman" Khan--Don't Tread on Us
Greetings in the Lord~
On Sunday I was led to read a passage from Esther chapter 3. It's not one that I read very often, and given the story, it caught my attention right away--who was promoted to a position of authority and was desiring to kill off the people of God? That is, in fact, the story of Haman. In chapter three we read about King Xerxes elevating Haman and "giving him a seat of honor higher than that of all the other nobles." But right away, he used his newly-gained position to try and launch an attack against not only his adversary, Mordecai, but against all of the Jews. He deceived the king and got him to issue a decree that would allow him to destroy the Jews, once and for all. However, we know that the story does not end there. Rather, Haman was found out and hung on the gallows he meant for Mordecai, and the Jews protected themselves successfully and gained peace and security in the land.
So it is with our modern-day Haman, Mr. Sadiq Khan, the new mayor of London. After he got elected mayor less than a week ago, the first public comment he makes is to warn Trump--'let in Muslims or risk being attacked,' and continued by calling him 'ignorant' of Islam. No, he is not ignorant, Mr. Khan. He is calling it like he sees it....like all rational, peace-loving people see it. We need a better vetting system before we bring any foreign national into our country, it's common sense.
Playing the "race" card won't work here, nor will name calling. Americans are privy to the reality of jihad in Islam and threatening us with violence won't make us put our heads in the sand like many European nations and cower in fear. Many will look to elect Mr. Trump and have our moment to defend ourselves from unscrupulous enemies, just like in the story of Esther. We want peace in our borders and will subdue those who plot or act out against us as a nation.
By the way, many other European nations are following suit, Mr. "Haman" Khan. They are seeing the danger in their midst and cutting off welfare for migrants, closing their borders, and allowing their police force to capture and subdue their malicious enemies. For those who come through the proper channels, generosity will be theirs. But for those who sneak in and lie, cheat, rape and steal, the heavy hand of the Lord will be upon them.
"If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land; but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword." Isaiah 1:19-20.
"O righteous God, who searches minds and hearts, bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure. My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart. God is a righteous judge, a God who expresses His wrath every day.
He who is pregnant with evil and conceives trouble gives birth to disillusionment. He who digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit he has made. The trouble he causes recoils on himself; his violence comes down on his own head. I will give thanks to the Lord because of His righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High." Psalm 7:9-11, 14-17.
