Winds from the North

Greetings in the Lord!

I hope everyone thoroughly enjoyed their summer and had a great Labor Day! While "a man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work," (Eccl. 2:24a), it still is nice to have a holiday thrown in there every now and then... :)

Anyway, I wanted to share about what I've been experiencing and seeing this past week or so in the spirit as I've traveled to cities in northern Michigan: I've been seeing wind--and lots of it! First, in Traverse City last week I had a vision of strong winds sweeping over the bay area, blowing as if to wipe the area "clean". One part of this vision also included a sail boat with red and white stripes on it--a believer in Christ--using the wind (and rudder--our carefully spoken words) to manuver swiftly around the bay. At first I thought this vision was specific for that person, but since I've seen so many other visions of wind, I now realize that it is more of a vision for the corporate body of Christ--God is blowing His breath on our lives, our endeavors, on the words that we speak, on the missions He sends us on, etc. Now is the time to move in and with the wind of God!

I also saw the wind of God sweeping fiercely over the waters and stirring them into large waves--oh, but the Lord is in control: "The seas have lifted up, O Lord, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves. Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea--the Lord on high is mighty." (Psalm 93:3-4.)

Then on Monday I was in Mackinaw City, spending much of the morning along the coast of the straits. In the spirit again, I saw a huge blowing of wind from the north passing through, sweeping all across the United States. This wind was a mighty gale reaching as far as Seattle and going down the West Coast, leveling the "high places": Seattle, Salt Lake City, San Fransicso, and so on. This wind blew across the Plains, the Midwest, the South, and the East Coast, and like wind wears away sand castles on a beach, the "high places" in our nation were being leveled and made smooth.

"A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him. Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. And all mankind will see God's salvation.'" (Is 40:3-5)

As I spoke with a woman there in Mackinaw City, I shared with her this vision and told her about the winds of the Lord sweeping through: winds of revival among the people, winds of power of the Kingdom of God; winds blowing away strongholds of wickedness like chaff in the wind. "Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown in the fire." (Luke 3:8-9.)

I told her, "It will be good for those who have sown good seed and are seeking the Lord, and not so good for those who persist in going their own ways....stubborn, corrupt ways." I did not realize until later that night that I was prophesying as much to the nation as I was to the city of Mackinaw. The Spirit called to rememberance the dream He had given me that morning of someone wearing green pants, but backwards! With the help of a discerning friend we understood the dream to mean that while green symbolizes life and prosperity, the backward wearing of the pants means it is not upright gain or sustaining prosperity. Mackinaw City, like other cities, must put their pants on the correct way! The Lord led me to read this:

"See, he is puffed up; his desires are not upright--but the righteous will live by his faith--...Will not all of them taunt him with ridicule and scorn, saying, 'Woe to him who piles up stolen goods and makes himself wealthy by extortion!' How long must this go on? Will not your debtors suddenly arise? Will they not wake up and make you tremble? Then you will become their victim." (Habakkuk 2:4, 6-7).

~Let's come into agreement with the winds of the Lord and say, "Sweep through our cities and lives, O Lord, and blow away all that hinders us from drawing nearer to you!"
Be blessed and be a blessing.
