Heavens' Lights Shining Down

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Matthew 18:1-9: "At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the seas. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come! If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled tha

Step Out and Signs Will Follow

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Mark 2:8-12 & Mark 16:19-20: "Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, "Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins..." He said to the paralytic, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home." He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they parised God, saying "We have never seen anything like this!" "After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it." (Mk. 16:19-20.) ~

Urgent Study Lesson

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word is really more like an urgent study lesson. Please read and study, then pray about these verses: Numbers 22-25, 2 Peter 2:15-16, Jude 11, Revelation 2:14. The Lord has put upon my heart that we need to become very familiar with the wicked ways of Balaam son of Beor so we can recognize those ways easily and reveal it to others. We must now equip ourselves with truth from scripture, so that when the Holy Spirit moves us to minister or pray in a way to reveal falseness, we will not only move easily but we will move with zeal! ~Have a blessed weekend!

Wonderful Surprises

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word is from John 21:17-22: "The third time he (Jesus) said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my sheep. I tell yo the truth, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when youare old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go." Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, "Follow me!" Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, "Lord, who is going to betray you?") When Peter saw him, he asked, "Lord, what about him?" Jesus answered, "If I wa

The Lord Has Stirred Hearts To Build

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Haggai 1:13-15: "Then Haggai, the Lord's messenger, gave this message of the Lord to the people: "I am with you," declares the Lord. So the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of the whole remnant of the people. They came and began to work on the house of the Lord Almighty, their God, on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month in the second year of King Darius." ~What project has the Lord stirred your heart to undertake? Know for sure that He says, "I am with you." In the passage the Israelites were being called to stop working on their own houses, i.e., their own projects, and start to build what the Lord had put in their hearts to do...and He was with them. For, "Unless the Lord builds it, the workers labor in vain," right? Yes, it's true; and more than that, the L

Joyride In Faith

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word is from Luke 9:1-6: "When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. He told them: "Take nothing for the journey--no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra tunic. Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town. If people do not welcome you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave their town, as a testimony against them." So they set out and went from village to village, preaching the gospel and healing people everywhere. ~At the moment Jesus sent the Twelve out to preach and heal as they had seen him do, a new phase was begun in Jesus' ministry...and a new phase, too, for the Twelve. For the first time they would be "on the front line," so to speak. No more standing behind Jesus listening as he confronts Pharisees, and no more lying back while

Power Versus Talk

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from 1 Corinthians chapter 4, selected verses: V. 1, 4) So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God...Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God. V. 6, 7) Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, 'Do not go beyond what is written.' Then you will not take pride in one man over against another. For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not? V. 18-20) Some of you have become arrogant, as if I were not coming to you. But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and t

Laying On Of Hands

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Acts 8:18-20 and Micah 3:11: "When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money and said, 'Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.' Peter answered: 'May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!'" Micah 3:11: "Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets tell fortunes for money. Yet they lean upon the Lord and say, 'Is not the Lord among us? No disaster will come upon us.'" ~Both of these verses are sober reminders to keep Christ first. Obviously, Simon was very impressed with the visible effects of the laying on of hands by the apostles. All miraculous displays of the Spirit are awesome---God is awesome! However, we cannot secretly desire the manifestation of the baptism of the Holy Spirit on a

Kings Will Bring Gifts

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Psalm 68:28-33: "Summon your power, O God; show us your strength, O God, as you have done before. Because of your temple at Jerusalem kings will bring you gifts. Rebuke the beast among the reeds, the herd of bulls among the calves of the nations. Humbled, may it bring bars of silver. Scatter the nations who delight in war. Envoys will come from Egypt; Cush will submit herself to God. Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth, sing praise to the Lord, to Him who rides the ancient skies above, who thunders with mighty voice." ~This word is a cry out to God to command His power to act, to show Himself mighty among His enemies by laying them low. In submission, His enemies will bring gifts to acknowledge God's glory; they will surrender to Him who protects His inheritance. I discern that we will see the Lord act on Israel's behalf as "envoys will come from Egypt"--most likely to offer troops as protection to
Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Mark 7:1-23 and Ezekiel 18:20-24,32. I will write selected verses: Mk 7:9 And he (Jesus) said to them (Pharisees): "You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe you own traditions!"...V.14) Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, "Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. Nothing outside a man can make him 'unclean' by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a man that makes him 'unclean.' Ezk 18:20-21 The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him. But if a wicked man turns away from all the sins he has committed and keeps all my decrees...he will surely live;...V 24) But if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commi

A Melting or Hardening of Hearts

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from 2 Peter 3:10-13: "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness." ~Twice recently I have received scriptures about "the Day of the Lord" (Amos 5:18-24 being the other). Then, yesterday I recalled the vision I had in 2004 while in Syria of fire sweeping across a world map; it began in the East & Middle East and swept up and across to Europe and beyond, westward. While I was not exactly sure what the fire represented, it see

Contend for Our Faith

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Jude 3: "Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints." ~We have been entrusted with the Truth, the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and we are to "contend" for this faith. Contending is not quietly sitting by, or even assuming the defensive position when we feel threatened. No, contending is forward movement; asserting and teaching; a reaching out and educating those around us of the truth of our faith; Jesus is Lord. Much of today's conventional thinking contends right along with us. Then of course, there are those that the book of Jude talks about: "godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord." (Jude 4b). It is important to contend for our faith. The new "Book

In the Third Year Sow and Reap

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word will be a fun one to share as it comes from Isaiah 12:1-6 and will read more as a Praise Report: "In that day you will say: 'I will praise you, O Lord. Although You were angry with me, your anger has turned away and You have comforted me. Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation.' With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. In that day you will say: 'Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make known among the nations what He has done, and proclaim that His name is exalted. Sing to the Lord, for He has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.'" ~I have 2 praise reports to share: exactly one year ago while I was living in Tirana, Albania the Lord gave the word that He was going to bring about a maj

The Lord Hears the Needy

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word is from Psalm 69. I will share selected verses: V. 8-9) I am a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my own mother's sons; for zeal for your house consumes me, and the insults of those who insult you fall on me. V. 13) But I pray to you, O Lord, in the time of your favor; in your great love, O God, answer me with your sure salvation. Rescue me from the mire, do not let me sink; deliver me from those who hate me... V. 16) Answer me, O Lord, out of the goodness of your love; in your great mercy turn to me. V. 20) Scorn has broken my heart and has left me helpless; I looked for sympathy, but there was none, for comforters, but I found none. V. 29-30) I am in pain and distress; may your salvation, O God, protect me. I will praise God's name in song and glorify Him with thanksgiving. V. 32-335a) The poor will see and be glad--you who seek God, may your hearts live! The Lord hears the needy and does not dispise His captive people. Let heaven

Spirit of Repentance

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word comes from Isaiah chapters 46 & 47, especially 46:10-13: "I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I do. Listen to me, you stubborn-hearted, you who are far from righteousness. I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away; and my salvation will not be delayed. I will grant salvation to Zion, my splendor to Israel." ~One of the last "divine appointments" I had while in the Philippines was with a self-proclaimed political terrorist. As I shared with him the word to repent that the Lord had sent me to Manila to give, I heard myself prophesy about the upcoming judgments the United States would endure if they would not change their ways as well. I became overcome with sadness as I shared this, as

Battle Plan Revealed

Greetings in the Lord! Today's word is from Nehemiah chapters 4 and 5, especially verses 4:19-23: "Then I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!" So we continued the work with half the men holding spears, from the first light of dawn till the stars came out. At that time I also said to the people, "Have every man and his helper stay inside Jerusalem at night, so they can serve us as guards by night and workmen by day." Neither I nor my brothers nor my men nor the guards with me took off our clothes; each had his weapon, even when he went for water." Fellow saints, this word is more than an encouragement to persevere in the midst of adversity, it is a battle plan! No man removed his (spiritual) clothes or went about without his weapon (the Wo
